I thought I would start this thread so we could post our intentions on going to local cruise nights during the summer in case other members might want to travel to meet up for just the evening.

I'll start:

Tuesday July 5th
Cruise Night at
The Village Green Restaurant
Route 1 North
Danvers, Ma
starts at 5:30 PM
free admission
food at the restaurant
weather looks good so far

I will be off-line over the holiday weekend and can't check back on this thread until Tuesday morning.

Dino. I know you were talking about doing the Cruise Night at Kimball's.

http://www.kimballfarm.com/event.html

I can do that one any Thursday this month (and also in August). Talk to George and see when he can make it and I'll meet you there.

For others. If Dino picks a date that you can't make, that's OK as George and I go to this show more than once in the season.

Wes,

I can swing by tuesday but will probably have a dirtybird. Have a thought, How's about we do a traveling cruise nite. Try to hit a different cruise nite some where in the near by( i.e. Kimballs, , merrimack valley, north shore, southern NH etc.)area to spread TBN wings? Will try to get a Whips wheels this week to see what is avaliable. Let me know your thoughts.

Marvin,

Welcome to TBN. There are a lot of great people here and a wealth of information about your bird.

There are some isolated T-storms in the forecast, but I'm still hoping to go to the Village Green tonite. Will check the doppler at 4:30 and if it looks OK at that time I will be up there at 5:30.

George (witchcitybird), see you there.

Barbara, swing by if you're out and about.

No fire extingusher for the Skip's show.

Hard to tell what the weather will be for the show. If it clears early Saturday then the show will go on. If not then then rain date will be Sunday.

Maybe we should postpone till next Thurs.

Looks like weather will be great for Kimball's tomorrow night (7/21).

George--I'll meet you in Littleton Common at 5:30 PM.

For anyone who wants to meet us there, here are the directions for Littleton Common.

To Littleton Common from Boston:
Take Route 2 West towards Concord. Follow all signs for Route 2 up to the Concord Rotary. At the rotary choose Route 2A Littleton (7 miles). At approximately the 5th set of lights you will come to Littleton Common at the intersection of Route 110.

To Littleton Common from Route 495
Take exit 31 off of Route 495. At the end of the exit ramp follow the sign for Littleton Common (Route 119 East). The first set of lights is Littleton Common.

If you show up late, just continue from Littleton Common to Kimball's by going East on Rte 110 towards Westford for one mile. The show field is on your left just before Kimball's which in on the right.

George,

I'm off to work so will not be online the rest of the day. If I get hung up at work or in traffic tonight I'll call you on the cell.

Mom (Doris) might be meeting us at the common, but I won't know until this afternoon. She drives a silver Taurus wagon.

Wes

PS, I can't find my camera this morning, so if someone else wants to bring one be my guest.

It's my fault it rained :tightspot

I washed my car.

I'm up for Wed night....trying to get my uncle to take his '56 out.

Not many weeks left of summer, I'm getting withdrawals already!

Saw a yellow bird a couple of times in the Newburyport area lately....don't know if they're members or not.

Sounds like a go. Carol-ann will probably go browzing in the mall. I'll get the bird washed and cleaned after amherst sunday. I might make Warwick but will be for the day only, If so we can caravan back.

I've noticed the cost of premium is all over the place $2.75(Salem) to $2.91(Danvers- they are doing this for the children)

Amherst? Sunday?

I've been in NYC....am I missing an event?.....or are you doing that horrible dorm move-in thing?

Spent $44.00 filling the bird in NH, $2.79 for top of the barrel. $2.75 in Salem, MA has to be bottom of the barrel. My A/C is sucking up the juice incredible. I've been saving my cruising for nights. (That doesn't sound right).

I'll see ya Wed. Has anyone heard from Wes? Wes?Wes?

Bird03
Aug 26, 2005, 06:56 PM
Hi Barbara--I'm here.

Sorry I missed the posts. I swung by the Village Green on Tuesday on my way home from work, but didn't run into anyone there. Wed. I was off, but the Bird didn't leave the garage due to weather. Have been working nights since then.

I think next week the weather should be good early in the week, but the remnants of the hurricane may get us by midweek.

The Sheraton Four Points in Leominster (where we stayed for the Fitchburg show in the spring) has a cruise night on Mondays 5 to 8pm. Going up there would be a great excuse for stopping by Barbers Crossing Restaruant on the way home.

From a previous post before we went last April:

http://www.thunderbirdnest.com/forums/showpost.php?p=113219&postcount=11

Great prices on HUGE prime rib and lobsters.

OK---who wants to go on Monday Aug 29?

Wes

Hey Wes :wavey:

Once again, you're talking my language.....32 oz Prime Rib....so rare a good veterinarian could bring it back to life.....YUM!

That's quite a haul at rush hour though. See what the response is. I have a standing Monday night dinner "date" with my cousin. I'll have to beg off or bring her with me. Or, Plan B, you and anyone else could join us at Capt. Carlo's in Gloucester. Food is excellent, and there's a jazz band with a 12 yr old playing sax and some famous trumpet player (female 78 yrs old! Hey where else can you get entertainment on a Monday?) Whoopie Goldberg stops in on occasion to help out behind the bar. It's a lot of fun!

If we do go to Leominster, I'd like to meet up with you and follow you in, if that's okay.

Has anyone heard from Marvin? Haven't seen him since the Village Green.

Bird03
Aug 28, 2005, 10:24 PM
Barbara,

I think that the weather is going to get us all week. Will check the weather in the AM and decide, but I think the Bird will be in the garage all week.

Have a couple of good ideas for Sat Aud 3rd and Sun Aug 4th that I will post tomorrow.
