It seems awhile back I saw a picture someone posted of their car sporting a front license plate bracket in the same color as their car (I think it was yellow). Any idea where I could get one? It looked very unobtrusive that way. I tried a search and didn't find anything :(.

I have the black bracket they put on when I bought ZsaZsa, but we'd both be a whole lot happier if it matched :). After numerous stops for no front license plate (and a fix-it ticket) on my old car, I just don't want to chance it with this one.

I'm half tempted to get another one and try covering it with touch-up paint in a desperate attempt to make it less obvious. Any ideas/referrals?

About the only thing to do is have yours painted to match. Any good body shop should be able to help you out. You might want to get another one to paint so you can keep your original one, in case you don't like the way it looks.

Andrea, where did you get stopped for the front plate ticket? I've been cruising along for a year now plate-free, but it sounds like the grace period may be over.

The yellow license plate holder you saw was the regular issue that had been painted body color. I think the picture is on the newtbirddata site (and you have to be a yahoo member now to see those)

After my incident with my sister-inlaw (see idiot sisterinlaw thread) my body man painted the replacement bracket (the original was destroyed) with the paint he ordered for the front bumper. It looks great and matches perfectly, although he wouldn't guarantee that the paint will stay on this type of plastic.

tr cruiser - Actually it was when I used to live in San Diego that I got stopped the most. Three times down there. One time each in Half Moon Bay and Reno though. San Diego was where they gave me the fix-it ticket. Then again, I guess I just look guilty when I drive around because the times I get pulled over it's for weird things, such as that or being a getaway car in a robbery...The sad thing is I drive like a grandma or at least pretty close to it, so as not to draw attention to myself.

Thanks everyone for the good advice. I was hoping it would be easy and there would be somewhere that I could just buy it online...alas, it's going to take a little more effort but it'll be worth it.
