      I voted 'who cares'
GM has the Vette, $$ for $$ best buy!!

The hot rodded Mustangs and Challenger will be almost similar prices.

Does GM really need a cheap Vette? They have the Pontiac and soon the Saturn 2 seaters.

There is no comparison between the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky with the V8 Camaro concept.

I saw pictures of the Camaro concept from the Detroit show. Personally, I think the front end is awful, and the back looks too much like the Corvette.

Ford did a great job with the Mustang, and the Challenger will have me at my local Dodge dealer in two years ready to sign. Why can't GM come up with any appealling designs?? (let's not even mention what they've tried to pass off as a GTO).

A company called Mallet is dropping 400+ hp V8's and six speeds into a limited number of Solstices (or is it Solsti?), and I believe they will be doing the same thing to the Sky once it's available. If I remember correctly, a turnkey car is around $40,000. I'm afraid the Camaro wouldn't have a chance.

They'll build it for sure IMO.

Didn't see it except for the pic. But lets remember, this is GM, they never do anything that makes sense.

An interesting article Joe, thanks for posting it. I like the styling for the most part, although it may be just a tad overstated for my taste. I do like the 400 HP!

Thanks for the pics, Kevin. I would buy it in a minute from the pics.

Spence is right, though ... When had GM ever done anything in recent memory correctly with the exception of the Z06.

Re: Move Over Mustang & Challenger ....

January 16 edition of Newsweek has picture of concept car. I like the looks of the front, it looks like it has an attitude. Caption for picture states:
                        Price: About 25,000
Audience: Aging baby boomers out to reive muscle-car glory days (That would probably be most of us)
                        Rival: Ford Mustang GT
Wow Factor: 400 hp V-8 gets 30 mpg highway (I can't believe that)
                        On Sale: To be announced

I was never really interested in muscle cars in my youth, but this car would certainly appeal to me now as a "toy". However, my garage cannot accept more toys. There are 6 cars/trucks in there now let alone a tractor or two and a utility trailer. Besides, Milinda would kill me or make me wish I was dead!

                              Dino,
I read an article in Car and Driver (I believe that was it) about the Mallet Solstice. It was pretty interesting, but the price tag was over $50,000. I've been to the Mallet shop and they do great work (specialize in performance Vettes).

I think the conclusion of the article was that for the money you would come out about as well just to buy the Vette.
