View Full Version : Hi, New T-Bird Owner
Sandy
Mar 21, 2003, 10:43 AM
Hi. Wanted to say hello and show off my new T-bird and join the group. I'll look for events that may be occuring in Maryland or Virginia. I sure am having fun with the new car. Getting lots of looks (almost as many looks as my husband gets in his Prowler!). ;) I can't wait until it stops raining enough to take the top down. It seems to have rained everyday since I got the car. The one day it was nice, I hadn't taken the hardtop off yet :(
Is our local dealership the best place to get the deck protector strips that go under the hardtop? We have a few sets, but are looking to stock up with more.
Hope to get more time to spend on the board, have to get back to work to be sure I get to keep the car. :D

Sandy: Welcome and have fun! Yes your dealer is the best place to get strips for the decking. However, do a search on this site re. "scratches", "sail panel", "Deck" and X-Pel.
You will find that many have turned to X-Pel (xpel.com) covering that is a longer term solution.

Welcome to the Nest! Do check out the Thunderbirds in Thunder Valley event. I didn't really pay attention to it until I looked at the map and saw we are only 6 hours away. It won't be often that an event like this will be this close to us.

I must be the the third new member with a Prowler in the garage. I have a Woodward Edition Prowler and I just got me wife a new 03 redbird for her birthday. And I am lucky, she lets me drive it once in a while.
We are going to try to make the Thunder Valley event.

We have two Prowler owners here in the Dallas/Ft Worth area that also have '02 T-Birds. One also has a Lightning F-150and the other has a Harley Davidson F-150. They just have a hard time finding places to spend their money.........Oh, one of the Prowlers is a Woodward Edition also.

I think I know both of the guys in Dallas/Forte Worth area you are talking about. Leon Kurzweil with 2 Birds and a blue Prowler and David Nazem with the Woodward Prowler, I think he sold his Bird though.

Glad to see there is someone else from the area on the forum. Currently my bird has been stored for the winter, hopefully will get it out the end of next week if the weather stays like it has been.

Redbird, Why do they call your prowler the "Woodward Edition", could it be named after Woodward Avenue here in Michigan?? Just curious. Loved your pictures, your cars look great together!

I didn't know David had sold his bird, so I guess I only know of one person with both cars. Leon does like 'big boy toys'. Makes me jealous.+

luvbird-Great Mills is in Southern Maryland near the Patuxent Naval Air Station. We are sandwiched between the Potomac River, Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay. Very beautiful!! I'm not sure we'll be able to make Thunder Valley-sounds like it would be great fun.

Hi Bill Brown....Sandy's other half here...We are practically neighbors with you. I work on base as well. I work for Crew Systems R&D.
Are you going to Leonardtown's Spring Fling Sunday? Sandy can't make it, but if you see a Black Tie Prowler, stop over and say Hi. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a cool blue T-bird. :)
I am registering for the car show if the weather holds. Registration is between 8-noon. and judging starts at 1 with trophies at 3:00

That's cool Bill! I plan to register about 9:00 Sunday too. Sandy has a commitment Sunday, so I'll be going solo with a few friends...She will probably stop by for a few minutes on her way out though.
Where did you buy your TBird? We got the one that was sitting at Aldridge Ford. We were disgusted with Busslers Ford, they were asking 10K OVER sticker! No wonder new TBird sales are slow! Damn greedy dealers! Aldridge doesn't play that game and we got a good price on the 02. We like the folks at Aldridge a lot.
Anyway, I'll look out for a blue Bird Sunday! Keep your eyes peeled for a black and silver Prowler. Look forward to meeting you!!

Got mine last year 16 May 2002 from Gordon Aldridge himself. He had it in the show room. I was talking one day with Walter Blair, he bought the first one Aldridge had, the black one, and he told me Aldridge had just received a blue so I raced to Aldridge and got a great deal on mine. Agree that Bussler is a jerk. I was one his waiting list and he never call although they had two on the lot at $49,999 firm......see you Sunday if it don't rain.  :pbj: :pbj:
