Today's forecast for next Saturday shows a 20% chance of rain with highs in the lower 50s.

I hope is doesn't get worse than that. Will keep you posted daily. Those in outlying states that are getting hit by the ice and snow this weekend, I hope there's enough of a thaw between now and then for you to safely drive here. The DFW area will probably be thawed out by Wednesday.

It's a 20% chance of rain but 100% chance of a good time so drive safe and we'll see you there

You've got it, Gary! We drive rain or shine. Had to to enjoy a convertible in Washington State. Even used to drive with the top down when it's below freezing if the sun was out. Washingtonians take advantage of any sun they can get.

Dot,

Is it alright if we attend but don't drive the T-Bird. The sand on the streets is an issue. This 2005 has 575 miles on it and right now driving it with sand and light gravel on the streets doesn't sound like a good idea.

I am not completely nuts, the 2002 I just sold went to Wisconsin three times and the east coast twice so we do drive them.

Fine, Ron. ok to drive something else when the weather or road is not up to snuff and it bothers you.

You might want to think about getting a bra for the nose of your tbird, too.

We use a bra on all of the cars, have for years. Unfortunately it doesn't protect the windshield. We drove our 2002 on the highway a lot for car events and when we sold it, it didn't have a chip anywhere on it. So the bra does work. I always laugh when folks tell me it will hurt the paint. I would rather buff and polish the paint any day than have to touch up a rock chip.

Looking forward to meeting you folks and getting involved with the club.

Does the club ever participate in parades. The Cotton Bowl parade this year seemed like a good place for the group to have a presence.

Hi Ron,
We're really not an organized club.
we can look into the Cotton Bowl parade for next year - do you have a contact?

Just checked the forecast for Saturday. Since this event ends in the dark and the temperatures and weather being forecast for this weekend look cold with possible snow & freezing at night, we might consider postponing this event.
I need to let the restaurant know.

Dot, let us know so we can cancel our hotel reservations, but I think you can give it another day or two before you decide.

Dot,

I don't have a contact, but I can remember the old Cotton Bowl Parade had T-Birds in it and it was always fun seeing them. Since we are out of production we now have old T-Birds. Our Miata Club for years was in the 4th of July Parade in Plano and it was always a fun event for the club. I would think that if there is interest we could get a contact.

I would wait until tomorrow afternoon to cancel your event. They always overhype the weather here. By tomorrow afternoon a better picture shoud be emerging as to what the weather will be. This is a tough time of year for planning.

We got up to a light snow this morning. Just checked the forecast for Saturday. It's 60% chance of precipitation, highs in the low 30s. We're going to postpone this event as there'll be wet roads and freezing temps between now and then. I'm trying to settle on a date but figure we need to see what winter is going to be like for the next couple of weeks. We're thinking to postpone for a month right now.

I don't see a need for us to chance taking our 'birds out when the weather is iffy. We may be able to negotiate the roads, but maybe not the next driver.

I'll post asking for a check in on the main garage tour thread so I know who has read this or not.
Sixpac - sounds like you were ready to crash the party with your new top.
