Hi Kris,
I joined last month and noticed a few people in South Florida on the east coast but haven't seen too many over by you. Naples is so pretty I lived there when I was just a tot. We take a day trip in the bird once in awhile over there so I'll wave if I see ya next time!

You will love it here, although the summer is like living in a sauna for 5 months. Good moisturizer for the skin is the way I like to think of it!!

Hi Judy,
I wish there was a way we could all get together, a car show, something, in Florida. Have any ideas?

Hi Kristin,
We used to have rendevouz about twice a year or so. We did a couple in the Tampa Bay area and several in the Orlando area. I haven't been to one in at least 2 years. It would be a great idea to have one down in Naples. Se it up.

Hey Paul,
I have never been to an event before. What would it actually consist of? What were the other ones like that you went to? Give me some ideas and I will start to work on it. I think it would be so much fun.
Let me know.....great picture of yourself (is that you)? Love the hat!

Kris, all you have to do is come up with a hint of a suggestion of an idea...and I swear the attendees will show up like moths to a porch light! It's a wonderful experience, so just go for it. Pick a date...you'll have a whole flock of Birds around you! Someone asked me this past weekend at my Thunder @ the White House, "Who plans the events?" Darlin'...they just happen!

Kris,sS
I had one here in the Pinellas County area (Clearwater Beach, etc.) We started in a state park in Tarpon Springs and drove the entire coastline down to De Sotto State Park where we had a cookout (everyone brought their own) It was fun and we had about 13 birds there. The best advice I can give is is this: KEEP IT SIMPLE! The experience is being together and meeting people who share a similar interest, not what you do or how grand it is.
Pick a date
set a meeeting place (easy off 75)
plan a route
plan time for people to meet
eat, drink and be merry
I do not believe the organizational charactoristicst of this project would require one to be either a PHD or a neurosurgeon... IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME! Remember, KEEP IT SIMPLE!

This ain't in South Florida, but Margaret and I are getting that fever again (remember what fumes6 said about car fever). We're antsy. We've got family here, but we don't see them all that often. If we moved to Florida we probably would see them more often.
We're looking at the Ocala area. It's inland, but the hurricane could still affect us. We've got kin folks in Spring Hill, Jacksonville, Orlanda and other places, so we wouldn't be totally lost.
Lot of things that we need to check on, but we're thinking hard. Margaret still hasn't ruled out The Villages. With my health and our age difference, she really needs to be thinking ahead.

Sounds great. But unless you can plan quickly for an August Event, I suggest you shoot for October. September tends to get a tad brezzy over here on the west coast. Sometimes overly so. We have a lot of T-Birder's North of Tampa and South of Tampa. Many in the greater Orlando area, right out to the other coast.
Like Paul say's. Just mention "Cruise". They WILL come.
Charles. check with Ron Loe about the Villiages. Probably the most pricy in this area, but you want for nothing. It's an awesome place. Ocala is really farm/ranch territory and far from most life, if you want to do the "Florida Lifestyle". SpringHill/Brooksville area is growing and a lot of things to do locally. (Hey, we even have Mermaids) Rick, Joe or I could do some research here for you. And Tom Aglio & Brian, are in the Orlando suburbs, and could fill you in about that area.

Every Friday night (weather permitting which changes by the min. in S.Fl.) there is a BIG car show in Davie. It's located on University Dr. just South of 595.Everything from T-Birds,vettes,Mustangs to the newer "hot rods " of today. If you show a car there is a fee,not sure of price, spectators park it and enjoy the show which means FREE.One of the best informal car shows around.Just follow the cars into the Home Depot parking lot on the East side of University Dr.,University Dr. is West of 95:cheers:

Greetings!
I'm in Hollywood. I have a teal '02 bird and LOVE it of course! I see many T-birds on the roads here but I haven't actually met any proud owners yet. It's certainly a popular car in my area!

Hi,
Just saw your post from several months ago looking for other s. Floridian T-Bird owners. We live in Sarasota, have a T-Bird Blue (turquoise to me) 2002 with full-accent interior, wide whitewalls and tonneau cover and have been to many of the WONDERFUL cruises in Orlando put on by Tom Aglio and his family. Last one we went to was in early December and we had 18 new era 'Birds there! What a beautiful sight it was and we had such a terrific time cruising for a couple hours from Lake Mary, just north of Orlando over to Lake Dora in Mt. Dora, where we had a great meal at a restaurant there followed by our Chinese gift exchange and the unbelieveable door prizes that Tom had lined up for us. If you EVER want to get a chance to have an unforgetable day and to meet such nice fellow T-Bird owners, come to one of the cruises that Tom loves to put on. There are a couple of us from the Sarasota area who usually go to these (Bob and Sandy Stone with their '02 Neiman Marcus edition), so we'd welcome others to join us next time.

This looks like a fun ride. As we are working pro's we will have to see if the schedule permits mid-week adventures. Should be far enough out though...
