Wednesday was a big bird day for me.....I saw FIVE....all soft tops.

Thought I'd post them in case any are lurking members. Stop in and say "Hi".

North on the Expressway, a 007, MA reg SVRET. (I really hope to are here, 'cause your plate is driving me crazy)

Newton, parked in an office building lot, a Robin's Egg (yeah, I know)

Rutherford Ave., another Robin's Egg, female long blonde hair.

North End, Torch, parked near Joe Tecce's.

93N, heavy traffic, Triple Black.

Yesterday, Lynnfield/Wakefield line, gorgeous MSG, looked like it had just been detailed, MA reg 80049 (I think).

Also yesterday, a convertible Porche pulled in front of me on the highway, plate "Sweet".....what are the chances of that?!

Oh, and I saw one for Wes on a black Lexus....reg "GOSOX 1".

Wow. Thats a lot of sightings. I haven't seen one in three weeks.

I stopped at Farnhams clam shack for lunch this week. A woman comes over to me while I'm eating and says "are you a Bird watcher or a fan of Larry Bird".

It took me a few seconds to figure out why she was asking me that. Then I thought...oh the license plate. I told her that it was from the car..a Thunderbird.

She laughed and said "Sorry I was having a blonde moment."

I said "that's OK...my friend that also has a Thunderbird uses that line all the time".

Let's see.....who could that be?

Terry? Sue? Kirsten?

Barbara, and you didn't put my cell phone number on the blonde's windshield / give her my cell phone number? What's up with that? Don't worry about Robin's Egg, that was the original name for the color. My bottle of touch up paint says Robin's Egg Blue on it.

Actually Chuck, you did cross my mind. Then I figured, she's too old for you.....could never keep up!

It will ALWAYS be Robin's Egg Blue to me.

Four more today. What's going on? All the slumber birds being sold off? (also a red Allante, yellow SSR, a DeLorean, and a chicken trying to cross the road....no joke).

All topless:

Torch - Rte.1 in Ipswich...was trying to see if it was Wes, but it had generic plates.

Sweet VMG in Newburyport, MA reg "W 857".

Very sweet Black/Tan, Hampton Beach NH reg "C-Scene".

Another Black at Rye Beach, generic NH tags.

That makes 10 for me since Wednesday. Not as rare as they used to be.

Tonight I was making my three loops around Fenway Park for good luck prior to the game. At Brookline and Lansdown St I came face to face with a yellow '02. We really weren't moving at all due to all the Red Sox fans walking all over the street, but as soon as I started talking to the guy driving the Bird, some cops came out of nowhere and started yelling "move it".

On my way home from work Last week on 140 in Boylston a 007, top down, with an older couple in it. I was in LEEBIRD, top down, and waved but no response. Beautiful car and the first I have seen up in my neck of the woods.....On the same road a MSG turning into a development but I was in the Cruiser going the other way.....

George,

I thought I saw you on the radar up in that area. Got a couple of weak hits on the radar at 200' outside our airspace. I called on the radio "Hey George, are you out there" but got no response. Maybe I was out at lunch when you actually came through our area.

Wes,

We stopped flying the lines at Route 1 in Topsfield and headed back north. We were there about 11:30 am.

A gorgeous day to fly. The foliage was still good. At least no potential trouble on the lines.

The chopper we were in was a TV celebrity. It was brought from the LAPD and was the police copter chasing OJ's bronco.

Saw an Inspiration Yellow, hardtop, near Suffolk Downs this morning. MA reg. "LO".

Had some kind of weird contraption on his hood. Wasn't quite a bra, as it was only on the front of the hood. Almost looked like a straight line of black tape, with larger rectangles on each side. Gave it a Groucho Marx look.

Barb That was probably just the top of a Bra. Some of them have weights on each side like inverted V's in leather so it will not flap. My Mazda had that

Last week while I was at work, a couple parked in their 007 by the tower at Beverly Airport to watch the planes come and go.

When they left I went out on the catwalk and pointed down to Tweaty. Got a thumbs up from both of them. If they had stopped I would have given them a tower tour (the best place to watch airplanes) but they kept on going.

Last Wednesday, I saw a Whisper White at the Quincy Adams MBTA station parking lot. Soft top up thank goodness. I just wished it luck as I continued past in my daily driver looking for a parking space.
The next morning during my commute I passed a black, hard top up, Gentleman about my age driving alone with a nice calm expression on his face. Not the expression most of us commuters dawn that time of day. My imagination decided that he was retired and glad he doesn't have to battle that traffic every day as he was driving off to a better place than I was going. Have no idea if it is true but it is my imagination and I'm sticking with it.

There were probably a dozen or more things I should have accomplished today, but it was so nice out I said frig it and took the bird...and the dog out.

I saw more birds today than I did round trip to NC earlier this month. Guess I wasn't the only one to frig it today.

All with tops down:

Merlot on Rte1 in Hampton NH, way ahead of me.

Torch going over the Newburyport Bridge.....huge wave, arms in the air, blonde.....Chuck would have loved her lol.

Torch on Plum Island, parked.

MSG on Rte 1A detour (how long has that been closed....I never saw the sign) Newbury-ish, both driver and passenger gave two thumbs up.

Saw a MSG coming out of the inspection bay as I was pulling into the station. Who but Peter Kulturides, cho143. I was 5th in line so he kept me company for almost half an hour just catching up on things. Gotta be a year since I saw Peter last. Was great to see him again.

State Motors in Manchester, N.H. has a silver 04 for sale. It has four one inch circles cut and plugged in the rear bumper. I guess this one come under the category of "a sighting of Me".

On the way to work yesterday, I was on 128 going North. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a white Lexus about to pull along side. I'm getting ready to give the "yes it's a great car, thank you very much wave" when I finally noticed that it was Bruce & Kirsten. They were on their way from RI to NH for the Holiday weekend. I called work and told them I would be late and we all stopped at Starbucks for a coffee.

An indirect sighting:

The Red Baron was taken out of hibernation yesterday. Had to call AAA for a jump start (yes I will finally get a battery tender next winter).

The AAA guy shows up and says that he sees 2 Thunderbirds in garages all the time.

Really?

Turns out there is a woman only blocks away from me who has a red and a white in the garage. I'm going to take a detour every time I go to work in hopes of seeing them (he gave me the street, but doesn't remember exactly where.

He also remembers a retro/baby Bird sighting and another retro/retro Bird sighting, but can't remember the locations, although they must be less than 5 miles from my house.

Yesterday Tweaty and me on 128 South driving home from work.

I could sense a car pulling alongside and that I was about to get a thumbs up and would have to give the prerequisite thank you wave.

Turns out it was Marvin (with the Whisper White) who we used to see at the Village Green cruise night and now occasionally see at Liberty Tree cruise night.
