We were at Pate Swap Meet all day - too tired to head into Arlington for the show. Hope you had a good time.

It was a relatively light turnout, maybe because of the Pate Swap Meet at TMS, maybe the threat of rain. It was overcast, but the sun came out as the Show started, and the weather was perfect!! I rode all afternoon and evening with the top down.
Scott (wtxbird) came out sporting his fiberglass tonneau...VERY SHARP!! Bill and Betty (bs498) brought thier Grey '59 Thunderbird convertible for all to admire. Scott and I took his Bird down the street and enjoyed some BBQ. We came back looked at the cars, and visited with everyone. Two of our regular attendees (from the Po Boys Club were celebrating birthdays, and shared thier cakes. I left about dusk, Scott was still voting.
Scott brought me a 1:18 Black w/red interior model. Thanks Scott!
We missed y'all! Did you and George find any "treaures" at Pate?

I saw maybe 5 real decent cars, Sally's was a show stopper and so was a very Black 66 GTO, It was nice with factory Hurst shifter. I should of entered mine, it has enough hand prints on it. I was worried on the way home, lightning off to the west, made it home before the storms rolled in again.
Sally it was good to see you, I wont go to that east Texas car show but
Maybe May will have a better turnout for this monthly event.:high5:

No treasures at Pate, George was selling this year, starting to rid himself of spare parts he didn't think he'd ever use.

We'll see. Last May was our only rain-out. It was nice over on my end of town, but POURING down in Arlington. I was almost there when they called me to cancel. I just went on and met them for a malt and burger

Been contemplating a Texas Trip soon. Would be great to meet up with you folks. Trying to shoot for your May Show.

I'd love to join ya, brother Dave, but with the wedding coming up, I wouldn't be able to make a Texas road trip until July or August. Which car would you take?

Dave, Ray, with the exception of the summer heat, a date after the May show would probably work out best. While I was President (2 years) I tried to make the show every month. Now, I don't worry about it as much.
I probably will not attend the May Show. I have a calendar conflict.
Any time you, or any member plans to attend, PLEASE let me know. I would hate to miss any of you...local, or distant members.
And keep in mind, any of you are welcome to stop by to say "Hi!", or share a meal at one of the restaurants. We'd love for you to partipate in the Show, but don't feel as if you have to.
I'll just be really HAPPY to visit with you!!

Okay Fellas, it appears my trusting nature has been duped.
Once I was told by several members that another member had "used" my Prayer request thread for my son, to further his self-serving campaign. I asked that member to edit his thread and he reluctantly agreed.
I've always tried to promote the fun here, the comraderie and goodwill among our members. I consider the members here as my extended Ford Family.
Please don't take advantage of my trust again.
This thread is for an event last month.
I'll start a new thread for upcoming Shows.
Birdwings, I'm requesting my thread be closed.
