Just joined the group and have already decided that it was a good idea, as I have already seen some interesting things such as future events planned and some neat items for the 'bird. My next door neighbor's dad has a '57 and said he would swap but I like mine.....
My wife, Tammy and I work for two of the local school systems, and our children work for another, so you might say we are education oriented...
Technically, I say I am retired, but I work as an advisor for the local school system on technical matters. I am a retired engineer and Tammy is the science supervisor for Jefferson County Schools here in Alabama, our sweet home.
We have very varied interests from gardening to music, and travel as much as we can.We have rafted the Grand Canyon and recently spent three weeks touring the Rockies from AZ to Canada. I am a native Californian with a daughter IN SF and one in FL. Her daughters are herein AL., one a second grade schoolmarm and one in UAB. We are relative newlyweds of five years...
Look forward to meeting some of you in future, and taking as many road trips as we can................

Welcome, Ray and Tammy. Hope to meet you at an event in the future. You should strongly consider going to New Orleans in June, Savannah in July and/or Nashville in August. All should be relatively easy trips from Alabama. If you are up for a real road trip, plan on Desert Thunder II in Las Vegas in October.

Welcome to the Thunderbirdnest! If you haven't visited Dot Lang's site "the porthole authority", I encourage you. You'll find pictures of many member's Tbirds (even mine). The TBN group is a lot of fun and you'll find out quickly if you attend one of the various outings that happen all over the country. Look for one that's not too far from home, put some cleaning materials in your car, and join the group. The reason for the bucket etc., is because TBNers are so proud of their cars that they wash 'em as soon as they get a little dust on 'em. The biggest gathering I've gone to was last August in Maggie Valley, NC. There were 76 Thunderbirds in attendance and we took over an entire Motel and had a caravan that must have been 1/2 mile long, (with a police escort) to the Beach Boys Concert. What a Trip!

Ray and Tammy,
Paul is right, you need to plan on attending an upcoming event. Next string of trips includes New Orleans, Savannah, and Nashville.
Hopefully the following link will take you to the New Orleans information.

Welcome to the group. As for your neighbors 57' I would be sorely tempted to entertain the idea of swapping. But then again the 57 would have to be in concourse shape and then I would still have to think about it very hard before I could make a decision. Have fun
