Hi, folks. New member here. Just purchased a 2003 black\saddle TBird. Love it.

This is my 4th TBird. In addition to the 2003 I have a 1958 hardtop (square bird), white/white black interior. 61,000 original miles, 2nd owner, all sales papers from Hackensack Ford, NJ. (Some of the options and their cost are a real laugher; post them in the future.)

I also have a 1994 black/tan interior 1994 LX 4.6, factory spoiler, 16" TSW Imola wheels. Runs great even with 104,000 miles (had to have the trans rebuilt, but I think I was lucky to get 100,000 miles out of the original trans; too many owners had the same 3-4 shudder).

I used to have a 1985 TurboCoupe, balck/gray interior, 5 speed. Fantastic car; put over 100,000 miles on her. Ran great until I totaled it in a 1994 NJ snowstorm. (The interior still lives in my nephew's 1988 TurboCoupe.)

I also have a 1964 Galaxy 500XL convertible, turq/black buckets/white top. 207,000 miles on the body, about 110,000 on the 352-300 hp V-8. Great highway cruiser.

Last, I have a cherry 1989 TownCar Signature white/black interior with 135,000 miles. No squeaks, rattles, dings, etc. Original untouched 302, but, again, trans had to be rebuilt. Best riding car I own. If the speedo said 50,000 miles, you would think that's original.

Some of my other past cars: 1953 Ford; 1955 Ford convert; 1954 Olds 88 3 speed column shift (very rare), 1957 Chev Bel Air (power pack 3 sp Hurst); 1957 Olds 98 convert; 1965 Corvette roadster (Nassau blue in/out 327-300 hp 4 sp); 1966 Cyclone convert; 1968 Cyclone GT fastback 302-4v 4sp; 1972 LTD Brougham; 1981 Fairmont Futura wagon (growing kids).

So far, this 2003 TBird may be the greatest car I've ever owned, or at least a tie with the 65 Vette.

Hope to learn a lot and get some tips from this website.

Welcome to the ThunderbirdNest, "jerrym3". It's always interesting to know our members car history. We're glad that you bought a new Tbird and hope that you'll enjoy getting to know our big Thunderbird family (growing larger every day) here on this website! We have gotten together several times in the past. You might want to check out the photo gallery and look for photos of some of our cars and our previous events.
Have fun!:tbn:

jerrym3, Welcome aboard the T-Bird liner,oh yes, I think that is Nest. You will find that we are flying or sailing all around the country, with great events happening at different times. Hope you can make one or more of them. For us it is just Fun, Fun, Fun. Except for maybe the people that set these events up.:cul: Sounds like you are a Ford guy like myself, I haven't owned anything new except Fords since 1971. Boy that seems like a long time ago.

Hi jerrym3. I'm glad you made it here. I finally registered myself, even though I don't have a t-bird.
I think you'll find this is the place for new t-bird info.

As jerry knows, I myself have a Marauder. I love the new T-birds though.

Jerry, welcome to the nest ! We are also new to the nest, so hope you enjoy all the info available on here, like we are doing ! Here in Iowa, we are seeing lots of 2003 T-birds in dealers lots, but not many out cruising ! Have as much fun with yours, as we are having with ours ! Jim & Kay in Iowa

Hi Jerry, welcome to the nest. I am local to you. I live in Bergenfield, and work in Cliffside Park. I was just at the North Jersey TBird show in the rain. Were you there?

Didn't know there was a show. Probably would not have gone in the rain, anyway.

Where was it held?

My brother-in-law just bought a 2003 black/black. Lives in Hasbrouk Heights. Removed his hardtop last night. He needs the soft top adjusted for smooth operation. Took two of us to get it to latch properly.

Should be interesting driving when we take our wives out for dinner or to family gatherings.

Having the same cars could be interesting if one of has a problem and the dealer claims "they all run like that".

He also has a 94 LX 4.6 identical to mine except his is totally stock (stock wheels/no spoiler) green/tan and has low mileage.

Jerry,
Tell your brother inlaw to wait a few days on the adjustment. Mine was uncooperative when I first removed the hard top too, but after a few days I guess the fabric stretches some and works much better.:pbj:
