Hello let me introduce myself, Pattycakes. I am a new member and have a 2002 blue Thunderbird and loving it. If anyone knows or have a soft boot, what I want to know, does it make noise from the wind? I really don't like the hard boot and it takes all room in the trunk.
Thank you Patty

windnoise isn't one of the complaints anyone has had about either boot.

Pattycakes,
I have both the soft and hard boots for my yellow 2002. I like the looks of the hard boot better but the soft is better for trips due to easy storage. I haven't noticed any wind noise problems with either one. Welcome to the nest.

I agree with YLO BRD.....no noise, easier to store. The hard boot consumes the trunk, which makes it pretty hard to take on a trip. The soft boot doesn't fit as tightly or look as trim, but sure does fold up into a smaller package.
Welcome to the next - you found a new family here.:bestwish:

welcome pattycakes!! can a sweet lady your small size even get the stiff boot on the car?
i'm a big bruiser and still have a lot of trouble getting it on properly. are you tucking the sides under? that could cause a wind noise problem.
i hate mine and use it under the car to protect the floor...............another grear idea from ford......tom

pattycakes,
I have to agree with YLO BRD. I borrowed an '03 soft boot for our journey to Centennial for the very reason that the '02 boot takes up half the trunk. While the soft boot is much easier to install and store, the '02 boot looks more "finished". I have not experienced any wind noise with either one.

200 is more than 100 isn't it....just got back from a great Carribean cruise and am trying to get dialed back in here.
200 posts a day. The other forums don't have 200 posts in a month!!!!!!!
It is amazing how far we have come so fast. When you have a great group of people and great product for them, things work....and also great administrators.

Thanks, brd4jk...
we had a fantastic time.....first cruise....we have travelled quite a bit for a long time, but we did not think we were "cruise" people.
But we tried it and loved it....hoping to do the Alaska cruise next summer and many more cruises, hopefully.
It was outstanding by any measure.

Hey thanks for the info how much are the soft tops? I saw one for $500. and another for $149.95 now thats a big difference in price. And the tent is 2 8x12 I needed the 2 to cover all. And got them from easy up. Here is another ? has anyone seen covers for the visors to cover the warning stickers?

Do a search on "Butt Ugly Visors" and you will find a great looking decal with a Thunderbird Logo to stick over the yellow one. Also instructions on how to remove them if you decide to go that way.

Their are also visor covers that are offered by The Ford Source. They have a banner displayed on the site. Search for visor covers as their are pictures out there to view.

The visor covers are best looking, even if they cover the mirrors. Anyone that vain only takes a second to unwrap and rewrap them.
And, they look like they came with the car.

I have both the cover-up stickers and the velcro wrap covers. I much prefer the stickers as the wraps drop the visor too much (visors don't raise up completely to their original stationary position) and IMO are a little obstructive (even though the workmanship on them is top rate!).
