Glad to see Jim & Regina, Mike, and Jim & Nancy are joining us. We'll miss Susan, but maybe Mike will take her some chips & salsa. LOL.
Just got a PM from Six Pac showing that this has been listed as a TBN event. Thanks, Charlie. Glad to see the interest is there, and that everyone knows we're not trying to take interest away from the original event; but keep interest up for those who can't make it to Marietta, Ga.

Hope you are doing well with the hip. Susan's knee is almost back to normal. Good idea about taking her some chips and salsa.
Is the repair to texasbird is coming along ok? You will have her back before the 7th?

Mike,
The recovery is to the point that I almost forget I've been operated on. I'm glad to hear Susan is on the mend. Too bad she can't make it to Pappasito's.
I expect to get the car back by this Friday. I plan on keeping the hardtop on for awhile yet, as I expect other owners will also. I thought of publicizing the lunch as a Hardtop ON event, but didn't want to exclude those who use the soft top year round, or don't have hardtops.

This is a great idea, James. Any other year and we would do our best to be there. This year we will finally be able to make it to Georgia to join the gang there, but only because we will be on our way to Florida for the Daytona 500 the following weekend.
Hopefully it will become a yearly tradition like the original. If so, we'll plan on making it next year!

Paul,
I hope to make it a tradition for this region. Enjoy your trip to Daytona.
BTW: Just got Texasbird back from the Body Shop. She looks wunnerful, wunnerful. She says she's ready for her special outings next weekend.

Now James, see what you have gone and done. You said "Let's get some T-Birds together" and look at what has happened. The Birds begin to flock.
When you announce a TBN gathering they will come. Watch your event grow from year to year.

Sally's (redbirdsal) attendance at this Pappasito's TBN event will set a record. She will be the only TBN member to attend a Pappasito's TBN event in both Georgia and Texas. Way to go Sally.
Now if I could just convince Margaret that the economy ain't that all bad and we could drive over for lunch and join Sally in setting that record.

If you leave tomorrow, you can play around on "the boats" (:wink::wink: ca-ching!) and take the scenic route. Wait much longer and you'll have to drive straight through.
You know you wanna do it! Otherwise, the long distance award goes to Bill Green.

Doable days drive if you're up to it, Charlie -- and there is room at our house if you want to cut the hotel expenses - but that's another 70 miles to your trip.

Yes, Sal. Sent her directrions this morning.
Follow up contact has been made today with Pappasitos, along with a new expected count. They talked like they are open to more showing up, so if anyone has been considering but not committed, you're still welcome. See you all tomorrow.

By the way folks, I was absolutely blown away by the response to this event!!! 28 people and 13 T-Birds, if memory serves me correct. If it doesn't, I apologize in advance (I believe some were still coming in while we were already seated inside). We had attendees from Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. I believe all who committed to attend were there. Mark Ray (Mark501) and his family from Arkansas were in the Dallas area, saw the post on TBN and came, even though they had left their t-bird at home. He's already posted photos under another thread as well. Other guests included some who had attended an earlier breakfast with another local car club, and were invited to join. Pappasitos took great care of all of us.
Sal, thanks again for the moral support and assistance with e-mail contacts. Much appreciated.
What's next???

:damn: Wish we could have been there. From the pics that Mark and James posted we know a good time was had by all.
James, see how easy it was to organize a TBN event. Do it again next year and the next and the next and it will keep on growing.
Aren't T-Bird gatherings fun, fun, fun? You get to put faces with names.
