Hi Bird fans,

I'm sitting here with a s..t eating grin on my face looking out the window at my '02 black bird with a new set of chrome 5 spoke rims on her! I had all but given up finding these beauties when accidently stumbling across this site about a week ago. As a direct result of info found here the old stock rims have been retired for use with snows; I'm happy as a pig in poop; darling wife thinks I've slipped a cog (She just doesn't get it!); and all is right with the world! What a great site!!! The next step is the exhaust!! Through a connection in the performance exhaust business I'm toying with the idea of replacing only the back mufflers, basically doing one third of the Borla system. I think I'd prefer to leave the centre mufflers as they are. I'm hoping that replacing the back only will give that little extra throatyness I'd like, without replicating the sound of the old SS396's. Then of course will be the additional chrome stuff......hmmmm........maybe darling face is right.......I have lost it!!!!

ps: if I could figure out how to reduce a picture to 800x800 I'd send a shot of the wheels!!! Gawd I love this site!!

Welcome to the nest! :bestwish:
You'll love it here :tbn:

If you're looking for mufflers try the Magnaflows, there is a universal oval that will fit they are polished stainless steel and add a 7 inch cut stainless steel extension (cost $350 installed) . Find a good muffler shop that does custom work. I'm having mine installed Thursday. I'll take some pics and post them if you like.

picture gallery only takes 800x800 or less.

birdbrain, if you want to, just email it to me and I'll reduce for you and send it back.
alinodot at omniport.net - only takes me a few seconds.

To Dot and Jim,

thanks so much for your offer to help with the picture reduction! DavidA had sent me an email and I just forwarded the pic to him to reduce. How is it done? Is it a special program or some camera setting I can do? (I hate technology!!!!)(except of course fridges......otherwise the beer would be warm!)

To Gene: I'm really looking forward to hearing and seeing how you make out with the rear exhaust conversion. I have a connection to a small exhaust company and am getting them to do mine in a similar manner, however I'm not using the polished can, just a regular performance 304 stainless steel one. The sound is similar to the Magnaflow. If these 'part' systems sound good on the car, and the installation can be reduced to simply cutting off the old and clamping on the new (no custom bending), I'm told the price could be brought down to about $225.00US, plus whatever the local garage would charge for the cut and clamp. Who knows, it may be a viable alternative to a 'cat back' system. I hope to have mine done Friday.

Correction to dots post. The gallery will accept pictures bigger than 800x800 as long as they are not massive in file size. It will then reduce the photo for you and then you can link it. David thanks for taking care of the picture.

Birdbrain: As I said, I really like those wheels, great choice. WHen you get more pictures, post them in the gallery where they will stay and not get lost as the thread ages. The more pictures in the gallery, the more interesting it becomes. Check it out by pressing the "gallery" button at the top.

special programs - most pcs have "Paint" as one of the accessory programs - it will reduce for you if you can figure out the steps. Different versions of "paint" may have different steps so explaining here may not be worth it.
There are other graphics programs that will also do the job and will be better at it.
If you have windowsXP- you probably have a couple of ways to reduce your photos.

camera - yes, your camera probably has lower settings when you take your pics. downside for the lower settings, i.e. low resolution, they don't print up as nicely unless you have a good printer. Check your camera's manual.

ps - sorry to mislead you on sizes for gallery - I don't load large ones to begin with so don't test the sizes there.

Another way is with a utility program like "thumbnail refinery". It easily created thumbnail size pictures, or any size you want. I think you can get it here (http://slideshow-refinery.com/).:newpapr:

I really like those new wheels! My wife thinks I've gone a little nutty also and I've had the blue one for over a year and a half. I am hooked already on this site . The Team Ford in Atl is really pushing this site and I've thanked them already for turning me on!

Hi David,

Thanks for the post re my new wheels! Obviously I think they are great, but it's always nice to know that someone else shares your thinking.......particularly when the significant other shakes her head and comments that she doesn't see a difference!!!!!! I fear she may actually have had the lobotomy I've been suggesting she get for years!!! (If so it would be the first time in 30 years she listened to me!!! .....Dot may get me for that one:nono: )

I had actually all but given up hope of finding the style I wanted (because of the offset the choices appeared to be minimal) until running across this site. Someone had mentioned 'tires.com' and bingo, they they were!! Needless to say my opinion of this site is very high!!

Welcome aboard birdbrain, love those wheels. We have a group purchase of the Borla cat back system for $635. The system has a sweat sound. I am located in the east part of Stoney Creek, just off the QEW at Fifty road.If you have time, come over and have a listen to the system. That way I can have a closer look at those wheels.
