Mark your calendars.
July 25th is the day we head for our annual trip to Skip's in Merrimac, Ma.
For anyone who hasn't been there, the show is huge with a lot of really great cars.
I'll be planning a short trip for the morning (meeting around 9:00 AM) before we head to Skip's at 2:00 PM. Details to be announced later.
After Skip's, we will head over to Witchcity George's place in Salem. He has reserved the clubhouse at his condo for a catered meal. Dori (Mom) will also be there to provide the entertainment and let us do karaoke afterwards.
If there is a rainout, it will be held the next day, Sunday July 26th.

If you New England folks don't mind a couple of Oklahomans tagging along, Rosetta and I will try to arrange our arrival in the Nashua area early enough to join you for this event. It sounds like a great time and will be a chance to see a few of you we know and meet others we haven't been able to before.
Of course, I've heard that you guys aren't always friendly to new folks. But then we don't have a limited edition 007 car for you to envy, just one of the very fast Torch Red one's, so we plan to fit right in. :poke:
Seriously, we are really looking forward to the opportunity to enjoy the day with all of you.

Hey Wes, we're going to meet you at Starbucks at 9am; we will also be staying overnight on Saturday and need the address of George's condo so we can check out hotels in the area.
Carmino & Mary
Carmino,
I eMailed you the address.
There are a lot of B & B's and some upscale hotels in Salem. Best is the Hawthorne Inn, but they may require a two night stay. You might have to worry about parking as Salem is densely populated and the parking is limited. For rooms, the rates are moderate to expensive.
I usually put people up at the Hampton Inn in Woburn. It is about 15 minutes from Salem, has great parking in the back, across from a small Mall and restaurants, just off I-93 and I-95/Rt. 128, and usually the lowest rates in the area.
Current rates:
75.65 + tax Advance Purchase FULL PAYMENT IN ADVANCE. NON REFUNDABLE
80.10 + tax AARP and AAA MEMBERS
89.00 + tax BEST AVAILABLE RATE (online booking)
Hampton Inn Woburn (https://secure.hilton.com/en/hp/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=BOSWOHX&ctyhocn=BOSWOHX)

Check with the hotel directly and they might be able to give you and even better rate.

Carol Anne, to do that while recovering from surgery is way beyond the call of duty. Finally got to meet Paul & Rosetta from Oklahoma and see the third person and car on my hard top relay. Thanks to everyone for a great weekend. George and Carol Ann thank you for a special evening. It was fun to be with the group for 2 weekends in a row. It also took us a little longer to get home (about 4 1/2 hours) because of bad traffic in Mass, I thought we would hit it in NY but that part of the trip was fine. We made home safe and the weekend was worth a little traffic. See you guys soon.

Wow, we are certainly glad that we added a couple of days to our journey in order to attend this gathering of the New England Chapter of TBN. What fun we had and what a blast it was to meet so many folks face to face that we have known only on-line. It was also really good to see a Dino, Susan & Chuck again.
Rosetta and I extend our thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome. It was good to see the closeness of New England crew but equally as cool that they were willing to include us as part of the family. Special thanks to Wes for putting together a great cruise route and for providing the drinks & snacks on the trip and to Doris for the entertainment. Also, many, many thanks to George and Carol Ann for their great hospitality, the wonderful meal, and the goody bag. However, the lawn sprinklers were one touch we could have done without, ha! Didn't know Chuck could move that fast!
We really enjoyed the car show at Skip's with the over 800 cars in attendance. It was a warm but beautiful day after 3 days of rain/clouds while we were on the road. All in all it was one of the best Saturdays of the entire summer. We hated to see it end as can be attested to by the fact that we didn't get back to the hotel until well after midnight - tired, but happy we made the effort to be here.
Thanks, again everyone!

Not much left to say that has not already been said. Carol Ann and George, my sincere thanks for the hospitality and outstanding dinner. Wes, appreciate your coordination and good call on the festival. Kudos to your mom for the entertainment, she is remarkable. Chuck, congrats on the new addition to the fleet. It was great making some new friends and look forward to the next time we get together. Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and another memorable weekend!

Another great weekend with best of friends.
Big thanks to George Witchcity & Carol Anne for providing the great spread of food for our evening party. I guess I won't be collecting any money for the T Bird Diner fund from George for at least a couple of years!!
Joel. I don't know Paul Potts. I was thinking more like Pavarotti. Great job.
Great to meet Paul & Rosetta and hope we can do it again someday.

All I can say is "DITTO" to everything everyone else has posted on this thread. What a great bunch of people, from the older group, to the new members and our visiting TBN members from Oklahoma who are on a Dream Cruise....Joel, great pipes my friend and George and Carol Ann when Cindy kicks me out, I want to come and live in your boat house....

Wow!...It looks like you guys had a great couple of days...it makes us homesick to look at the pics(nice job as always, Wes). On the west coast for another week and a half...having lots of fun and lots of Bird sightings from LA to SF. We've rented a 2010 mustang convertible and have not regretted a moment but so many times we wish we had one of the Birds...see you guys soon....Jerry & Michelle
