Save the date of April 18th for our Springtime annual get together. This will be our 9th year together - I think we are due for good weather this year:)
As time approaches I will secure rates at the Sheraton, unless you all want to go further away

That's great Joel. In the past, many local members that do not stay over, meet us in the morning at the hotel. Then we caravan in together so that we can all park together. Your choice.
After I have a price for the hotel, I'll post who's staying over and who's meeting in the AM.
Of course you can drive in at anytime if you don't do either of those.

Okay gang, just spoke with hotel today and they have agreed to retain the same rate as last year, $95.00. Contract due to me soon.....
I'll sign real quick since this is the very same rate we've had since 2006 - I think we're doing well, holding this rate for 6 years - since April 2006:pbj::pbj:
I'll post when it's time to call in reservations.
BTW, I only secured 8 rooms this year but can get more if needed. Also, additional days, Friday or Sunday, could be available at that rate, but I could not tell them if anyone was interested yet.

Okay, contracts in and I'm all reserved.:drums: I can feel the warm weather already:worshippy
Contact the Four Points Sheraton at 978-534-9000 and reserve under the
"New England Thunderbirds car show".
Make sure that they give you the $95.00 rate and they'll also give you a confirmation number. Of course there will be a room tax added.
Check in is at 3PM out by Noon. All rooms are 'no smoking'.
John:When you register that rate applies for all those who stay extra days on either side of 4-17.
NOTE: Reservations need to be in 30 days in advance so we do not lose the block of rooms. So reserve by 3-17-10. It also gives me time to get more rooms if we need them, so please sign up now if you plan on staying over....
Any new members coming, there is no registration for the show.

Meet him at 5AM????? That's only if he's a vendor there. Otherwise you cannot get in at that time. Vendors gate opens at 5 or 6 so they can set up. Remember there's about 350 of them.
The spectator gate doesn't open until 8, sometimes a little earlier if they back up onto the main road.
So find out where & when to meet him. If he's not a vendor, why not meet at the hotel, go over when ready in his car, have him get you back by 8:30 to meet us then go in with us stay until 11-12 and you still can make the train show.:drums:

First of all, our appologies to those who may have planned to meet us at the hotel this morning, showed up and found us not there......
Well, we all got tied up with the events of Yesterday, many without TBirds, but had a great day in the rain. It was a fun packed day but we decided to cancel the stay over due to weather and the extended forecast at Fitchburg.
Unfortunately we were not able to post that we all cancelled our reservations at the hotel, and it was late when we broke up. So for those that may show up this morning to meet us, I'm sorry.
But it's a rain or shine event so go in and enjoy it. In fact hook up with Don Seymour and the NEVT, there may be a few new birds there.
(Saffron was there yesterday and had a great time) but I'll leave the rest up to Wes.

I counted 4 retrobirds, all fairly local I think. Mainly new members hoping to meet the gang. Someone did check at the hotel so we knew around mid morning not to expect too many. Lot's of guys thinking of adding one to their collection for the right price. Mainly old farts like me tired of spending more time wrenching than driving. My son found a nice black diecast for $7 so he was happy. "til next time.

I heard from rooterman who went as well. He said :
"Found some others looking for your group as well at the show, A few TBirds and not as many cars. Lots of vendors and die hard old timers. Also met some old friends so it turned out be be a good day, light rain and finally the sun broke thru

John,
I'm really very sorry that none of us showed up. I am so accustomed to everyone else having a "no-rain" Bird that I just assumed no one would show up. Hope to meet you next time.
On another note:
Thanks to everyone who showed up for the Saturday rainy cruise. Who knew we could have so much fun in the rain. Thanks for giving Saffron such a great tour. I think that Dot will be very happy with the video. I'm trying to get it edited now and you might have to go out a buy some Depends because you might wet yourself when you see the finished product. Give me some time to get it just right.
Big thanks to Lee & Cindy for hosting the post cruise picture viewing party.

Sorry George. Cindy made me do it. We just couldn't see having everyone rent a hotel room just to watch the days out-takes. So we invited everyone over to our house. Cindy just told them "not to look for the dust" as we didn't expect to host a get together.....But as always, we had a bunch of laughs watching ourselves on TV.....

No problem Lee....That's whats great about the group. Most of us can do things on a moments notice. Glad you had fun.

The video is progressing nicely. I think I might be one "mama ehya, mama ehya ma" short, so I'll have to do some post production video. I might try to get the Bird to do it, but I know he won't wear the glasses. Maybe Doris will do it.
This one is going to be another ROFL moment.

Well, I convinced Doris to do a couple of "mama ehya, mama ehya ma's" and a "pata pata" just to be on the safe side. It only cost me a twin lobster dinner and some work on her weather station and some help with installation of her new 52" flatscreen.
BTW
The inspiration for using "Pata Pata" for our video came from a Honda commercial:
