Welcome to the Pacific Northwest Thunderbird Group Forum... this has been requested... so have fun and make use of it.
Also you guys may want to discuss which states this group will include

Another Welcome from here! I would suggest these states to start with:
Oregon, Idaho, Washington and their neighbor to the north: British Columbia.

Welcome PNWers!
Thanks, Dot, for posting the great picture from last weekend! My bird had a nice time meeting her new bird friends! (I had a good time too!)

Does anybody have any good ideas for a place and time to all meet up? (It seems like we should do it soon before the weather turns). Someone was trying to put together a meeting at some great pizza place in Tacoma.

Trout,
Some suggestions, even if I can't make any of them. Try a trip to Snoqualmie Falls via backroads, start at the big park in Redmond(the one by Sammamish Slough) and go over the hills to the Duvall/Carnation Rd and down to Fall City and up to the Falls. Arrange a tour of the power plant at the Falls. Return back to Fall City and toward Redmond. Picnic lunch at the Falls.
Or try a trip to the Boeing Museum, a trip to the Everett Boeing plant for a tour, or in the spring do a driving tour to the Skagit flats for a tulip tour. Maybe a day at the Chittenden Locks or Sumner area wine tours. There are just too many things to do. Just pick a time a go for it............
PS,
Do the Bluegrass Festival in Darrington if it's still going on(I just saw that your room-mate plays the banjo).

This weekend would not be the time, but how about Long Beach area? That would be a pretty centralized area for our Oregon members as well.
Wherever would be great with me. I would like to meet more of the TBN members and have a great time.

How about if we meet at the Olympia Brewery, take the tour and hang out in the hospitality room until the kick us out?
I haven't driven up the the Puget Sound Area yet this year, so that would be kind of cool. I sure hope the Mariners make the playoffs this year too!

I don't think the Olympia Brewery will work too well for a meeting place. It closed down last spring for good. There are a lot of breweries and wineries in the Seattle/Woodinville area.
Long Beach works for me too. I need to visit an aunt who just had surgery in Longview but normally lives in Astoria.

That's too bad, trout, I hadn't heard that! I guess I'll have to go cry in my beer now! :bawl:

Long Beach sounds like a good place. We used to go there occasionally with our classic tbird club. Several places to tour to from there.

I normally do not drive the T-Bird in the rain, but for this, I will most definetly make an exception. Name the date, (weekend hopefully)and I will be there--rain or shine.:tbn:

My daughter-in-law's family live in Seattle...I think your guesstimate of 200 miles is pretty accurate

Actually, we had a beautiful summer, and hopefully the Autumn will be just as nice. In fact, I "racked up" the miles over the summer. I just turned over 1500 miles!
It was imparitive I maintain my monthly average of 100 miles a month.

I never lived in Washington state, but I have made several trips to your beautiful state during the 23 years I worked for a Kenworth (class 8 truck) dealer as Service Manager to tour the Kenworth factory in Seattle on Boeings property and the factory in Renton. Also made several trips to their test track and test facility in Mt. Vernon. Lots of nice areas to cruise.

I don't like to drive my bird in the rain either, but I do drive it on nice days during the week. (In the past I typically put about 5,000 miles per year on my previous convertible.)
I just checked the 10 day weather forecast and it's not looking good for days with no rain. We couldn't have used up all our nice days for the year, could we?
I'll keep checking the forecast for improvement and maybe we can try for a nice weekend soon!:pink:

October is usually not too bad for rain but if you're going to spend a weekend at the coast, better get something going now or plan for something next May or June

How about including western Montana? I am in Missoula with my '02 bird.

n_herrin,
We're probably the closest group to you, so, of course, you can be included!:pink:
A woman I work with is from Turner! I have a high school classmate who now lives in Billings! And one of my clients owns a campground/trailer park in Polson at Flathead Lake! (I know Montana is a big place, but I can't remember if any of those places are near you.)

If we get something going let me know, and I do drive my car year around in Seattle. And we have had a great yer to do it up here.

There's a local exhibit going on at MOHAI (Museum of History and Industry) in Seattle near the University of Washington about the 100 year anniversity of Fords. I would imagine they have some T-birds from the 50s, but I haven't been yet. It runs through the 16th of January.

Guess I should put in my nichols worth here to; we should welcome anyone that has a late model Thunderbird here...especially if they are from Washington, oregon, Idaho, Western Montana, or Northern California.
Sorry about the late input, just found the thread

I think we need to plan some get - together this summer. Nothing real huge, but possibly a trip to Seaside or Cannon Beach??
North,(WA) South,(OR) possibly East (ID). Anywhere would be great.
What does everyone think?
Any good ideas or opinions?
If we start planning now, we will have plenty of time to get the dates, and place all worked out.

OOPS...I'm thinking we should also include the Republic of er uh I mean the Great State of Texas also...they have so many regions in that state it seems the whole country is included.
Ah the fond memories of Texas I have.

Seaside or Cannon Beach (or even Long Beach) sounds like a fine plan to me. What's a good weekend or do we need to check lodging first?
Other ideas instead or in addition to would be:
1) Walla Walla (eastern WA) for spring release weekend (of the wineries) (May 1 and 2nd), except I think the whole town is already booked except for maybe the Super 8. Maybe next year?
2) A ferry ride up to one of the San Juan Islands.

I think we need to take a poll on who all would be interested in joining us, then decide the date, place, etc.
The only problem is that I do not know how to do a poll. Justin, could you help me do this?
