Ken, I'm taking a wild guess and saying you got a Bronze Bird. We get picky about the color names.:poke:

Forget what I just said!:spank:

Welcome Ken & Lorrie!

My sister & her family live in Owens Crossroads. My niece graduated in May from Madison County High there in Gurley. She is off to Auburn as of this past weekend. Her brother, who also went to Madison County, graduated from Auburn two days ago. We just got back home from attending his graduation ceremony.

Perhaps we'll run into you sometime when we are down that way visiting. there are several TBN members from your neck of the woods that should chime in to say hello soon.

Enjoy your new bird!

Welcome! I've got in laws in Wetumpka.
To get you headed in the right direction, it's Merlot with a Light Sand appearance package. And a very nice combo, if I do say so myself.
May I humbly (not very, actually) suggest that you check out the Thunderbird of the Month for August . . .

Ken and Lorrie,
Welcome to the site. There are so many of us in the No. Al. area now that I think its definitely time for a ROAD TRIP. I know it's almost too hot to go out of the house. Maybe around the first of September would be a good time.

Welcome to the nest. Although I have a Black Bird, I too have the Tan Soft Top and light sand interior. These cars are gorgeous and Merlot is one of my top ten favorite colors!

Cal,
Very smooth political spin on revealing Merlot as one of your top 10 colors.

Ken and Lorrie, Merlot is my TOP favorite of all Tbird colors. Black is one of my top 10. We have a big event at the end of October in Gulf Shores AL. Consider joining us and show off that new Bird.

Black is one of my top 10.

I have Merlot pegged as one of my top one favorite color - even more so with the Light Sand. Black is in my top 100 - somewhere above avocado and baby stuff brown. :kiss2:

And I think my political correctness just took a dive. :nervous: Important thing is, it's a T-Bird. Put the (whatever color) top down and enjoy.

Our youngest son Steven graduated in 2007 from Madison County High School. They may have known each other.

We spent 1979 and 1980 in Lawton, OK.

Small world!

MERLOT IS A GREAT COLOR, THAT IS WHY THEY SOLD SO MANY OF THEM. HOWEVER, IT IS ONLY NUMBER TWO IN MY TOP FIVE. BUT WHO CARES, THEY ALL ARE GREAT.

Smaller than you think! I graduated from Lawton MacArthur High School in 1973 (haven't lived there since 1975, but my parents still do). My sister also graduated from MacArthur in 1976 and from Cameron University in 1980, so she would have been there when you were. After she married and they went to Fort Bliss to finish out his obligation to the Army, my sister and her husband moved to Owens Crossroads as they both have had jobs with various defense contractors over the years in Huntsville.

Given the small size of Madison County High perhaps you know my sister and her husband, Pam & Todd Worthington, or your son may know my nephew and/or niece, Ryan and Emily Worthington.

I do not know them. I asked my son and his wife (who also graduated MCHS) and they do know them either. We must have come close to passing one another though as I work for a defense contractor in Huntsville.
