Birds and Bikes Road Rally?
With temperatures falling to more tolerable levels, a few of us are in the planning stages of taking a short day trip. We'll probably travel up I-17 to Cordes Jct, head to Prescott, take 89A to Jerome (lunch?), continue on to Sedona, then back on AZ 179 to I-17 and the Valley.
Several among us are going to drive their Harleys, one's driving his new ZO6 Corvette, and I'm the only Tbird, so far. However, it's time that our small group of Tbirds gets together, take our h/t's off and hit the foothills and mountains. Right now, it looks like either 10/4 or 10/18 are the 2 dates we're considering.
If any of you have an interest in participating, let me know.:smokin:

We would enjoy going on this. Just recently moved back to Scottsdale from Arkansas and are looking forward to enjoying the nice weather and top down driving.
Let us know and we will do our best to be there.

We went the back side of Mingus mountain up to Jerome not 2 months ago...awesome, peaceful drive. While you're doing it, note the dead pine trees (brown) from the bark-beetle infestation.
Several great eating places in Jerome, too...if you get a chance, go through the mine museum...GOSH I WISH I COULD GO!

AZ Yellowbird...I'm gonna wait until the first of October to remove our top...it's still too hot during the afternoon drive home for me. Saw a yellow with a white top of Scottsdale road couple weeks ago.

Couldn't tell if it was a woman or man...they were going opposite way and median foliage blocked full view...sure looked sharp, though. Great combination.

The first week of August 04 we plan on moving to Las Vegas, Nv. That would be a great trip for the Arizona T-Bird Group. Eleven months away, but will be here before we know it.

AZ Yellowbird. Be careful with the make shift hoist where the window gasket meets the rope you might want to consider some pipe installation foam around the rope where it comes in contact with the weather gaskets for protection.

We need to get a vehicle count and headcount for the 10/18 Birds and Bikes Road Rally. I know that AZ Yellowbird and thivette have committed. Anyone else from the nest? Also, if I don't already have it, please pm your email address and phone numbers for trip details.

Here's the Road Rally info...
We're flying out in our Tbirds on Saturday 10/18. The rally point will be the side of the n/b entry ramp from Carefree Hwy onto I-17. If anyone wants to caravan from Chandler, FH, or Scottsdale, let me know.We could probably join together around Loop 101/FLW at 7:45.
It looks like we're going to be joined by some H/D motorcycles, a Corvette and a BMW convertible. This trip will take us up I-17 to Cordes Jct. From there, we'll head west on AZ 69 to Prescott. Around Mayer, we will probably make a pit stop at the H/D dealer. From Prescott, we'll go up and around the mountain via US 89A to Jerome.
We're planning on being in Jerome at 11:00 to have lunch at the Jerome Brewery. Even though they don't take reservations, they're setting aside 4 tables upstairs for us. Next week-end, Jerome is staging it's annual "Spook" celebration. There will be street exhibits, booths, etc. It should be more fun and more crowded than usual.
Not knowing how long we'll want to spend in Jerome, we've decided not to continue on to Sedona for this trip. So, most of us will leave Jerome and then follow on to AZ 260 through Cottonwood and then onto I-17 back to the Valley. Some of the bikers will continue on AZ 260 to Payson, then back to the Valley via the Beeline.
If you haven't already, please confirm your participation with a pm.
