Long story... Ellen's Step-dad, Ken had a kidney removed several years ago due to cancer and underwent specialized treatment for small spots in the surrounding tissue. It seemed everything was OK, even though he developed diabetes. Turns out the cancer is back, not in the remaining kidney, but the surrounding tissue (again). Preliminary testing is still being done.....more news to follow as soon as we know.
Please pray for Ellen, her Mom (Jane) and Ken.

Thanks, Bruce

Prayers do work! Ken is responding very well to the chemo (last treatment today) and the anti-nausea meds are working for him. Now we wait 2 months for more tests to find out about radiation. His medical team gave an excellent prognosis, to quote "You are one of the toughest people we have treated" So far, so good.....

GOD is great!

Another chapter in this story...it seems like every time the specialists take Ken off the meds, something else shows up. This time the cancer started to grow again. He has started a new (read "study med") oral chemo and it really has knocked him down physically due to the side effects. Please continue the prayers.

Latest update, the new meds are doing their job! During his last check-up the medical team found that the tumor is shrinking. His sense of humor has returned, quote, "All my hair fell out and it came back white. Now everyone will know I'm old." He's "only 76" and his hair was jet black before the chemo.

Thanks again everyone. Never underestimate the power of prayer!

Great news, Bruce! Chemo can play funny tricks with hair texture and color. It's a little reminder, tell him to view it with great pride and sent my best wishes!
