I'm sure all of you have read, or heard about Rep.Giffords shooting incident. Please keep her and the other wounded in your thoughts.

Terrible when this happens to anybody, and especially the people that represent us. I understand the judge just dropped by the event, and hardly anybody knew he was going to be there. The suspect sounds like a really disturbed person.

A politician committed to serving her constituents and this happens. How sad. It seems there is so much violence in our society today. I saw a quote attributed to Jimi Hendrix that went something like this:

When the power of love overcomes the love of power we will have peace.

Rep. Giffords had an op-ed piece in AZ's largest newspaper just a week ago about her aspirations for the new congress. It was an excellent article. While she's not in our district, I told Susie she sounded like the genuine deal. We are all praying for her quick and complete recovery...sad, sad event. She is very highly respected in AZ.
