About the only reason it would be totaled and only good for parts is if it has severe rust in the frame and that's likely considering where that car is from if it's had a lot of winter use in the past. Then it would be a parts only car. If the frame's metal is good but bent, it might be possible to straighten.

repair estimate is inline with buying one that is already a driver.

Elle, I think they are similar to the Ford GTs' in that a lot of folks buy them but have no idea how to drive them. They don't mind spending $60k on a toy but apparently don't want to spend the $1500 to $3k to go to an accredited driving school one weekend to learn how to drive all that torque and H/Power ... :thumbsdow

I went to the Bob Bondurant School of Driving. Seriously. This was many, many years ago. My dad paid for it...that's how long ago. I learned about power and that a human being is vulnerable. I wish y'all could have heard Charley tearing out of our cul-de-sac this afternoon (the neighbors complained). Not pretty. Now you know why I don't let him drive my T-Birds. I love :love: him dearly, but he's a regular John Milner (Paul Le Mat - American Graffiti) when it comes to driving!:redlight:
