I was told some more sad news for our TBN family. La Verne, lvtbird733, has pancreatic cancer.

Just wanted to give you a little update on LaVerne. I saw her yesterday and she is doing very well with all things considered. She's a strong person and her attitude is good as is her spirit. She has some pain which they are treating and is not really able to eat much but she went in today for her first chemo treatment and hopefully, after they are able to shrink the tumor, she will feel much better. She appreciates everyone's good wishes and prayers and thanks you all for thinking about her.

YESTERDAY I SPOKE WITH LA VERNE'S BROTHER AND GOT AN UPDATE ON LA VERNE. SHE HAS BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL SINCE SUNDAY AND THEY ARE TRYING TO REMOVE A BLOCKAGE THAT KEEPS HER FROM EATING. SHE WAS NOT ABLE TO HAVE THE SECOND CHEMO TREATMENT, SO THEY ARE WORKING ON THE OTHER THINGS TO GET HER STRONG ENOUGH FOR THE NEXT TREATMENT. WE NEED TO TURN UP THE PRAYERS.

I talked to Wes tonight and he said LaVerne was feeling a little better and had eaten something today. I don't know which hospital she's in but I will find out tomorrow and let you know. It might be better to send to her home if she gets out soon -- hopefully. I'll ask her if it's ok to post that.

LaVerne was able to get onto TBN today and was very touched and appreciative of all the well wishes and prayers sent her way. She said to thank you all and to let you know that she is feeling a bit better.

This past week was not an easy one for her -- hopefully they will get things under control and she will start to feel better soon.

I saw LaVerne on Wednesday, her spirits are good and she is fighting this with everything she's got. Please keep your thoughts and prayers up!! She was in the hospital Wednesday but I think she's going home today. You can still use that P.O. Box number for cards or if you want to call her, send me a pm and I'll give you her phone number.

I just talked to Wes, LaVerne has pneumonia, is in the hospital and is not doing very well at all. They are meeting with the doctors today to see what the next step will be. This thing has progressed much faster than anyone could foresee and it looks like things are not going as they had hoped. Will keep you updated but things don't look good for our LaVerne.

They have started hospice on LaVerne. Their goal now is to make her comfortable and pain free.

This saddens me beyond belief. LaVerne is one of those special people with only kind words to share and an infectious laugh that you can't help but join in.
