One of the 56's that I saw this weekend had his hardtop on, and low and behold had a mylar strip under it to prevent scratching! Not sure if this was the cure back then, or if this owner just picked up on the idea.

Actually a lot of restoration parts houses have been producing these mylar strips for a few years now for both vintage T-birds and Vettes....

They really help!:thumbsup:

Haven't had to use the strips yet, my top was only on the car a few weeks with no scratches in site. The factory rep is supposed to drop some off at the dealer for me at no charge.
