Interested in a cruise over Stevens Pass and the North Cascades Highway with an overnight in Winthrop? Eric and Cindy are setting up such a cruise on the weekend of June 2 & 3. We plan to meet in Monroe about 9:30 on Saturday, and head east towards Stevens Pass at 10:00. We’ll have lunch in Leavenworth at noon, where members from eastern Washington can easily join the cruise. After lunch we have a pit stop in Chelan and then head to Winthrop, arriving about 4:00. We spend the evening enjoying this western-themed town before bedding down for the night. Sunday morning after breakfast we head west at 9:00 for the beautiful drive over the North Cascades Highway. After coming down the west side, we will drive through Darrington and have lunch in Arlington around noon. Here we say goodbye to everyone, leaving enough time for those in eastern Washington to get home at a decent hour.

The trip will include rest stops at Chelan on Saturday afternoon and at Diablo late Sunday morning. Tentative plans are to meet at Starbucks in Monroe (see note on page 2 of this thread for revised meeting location), lunch at Andreas Keller (Bavarian) or similar in Leavenworth, dinner at Carlos 1800 (Mexican) in Winthrop, stay at the America’s Best Value Cascade Inn in Winthrop, and Sunday lunch at Angel of the Winds Casino or similar in Arlington.

Hotel Reservations: America’s Best Value Cascade Inn – (509) 996-3100. Reserve by the end of March to ensure getting a room. Tell them you are part of the Thunderbird club. Prices are $90 for one King bed, $100 for two full beds. Pets - $10 deposit. Light continental breakfast included.

Please let us know if you are interested. We need an approximate headcount by April 2 so we can make reservations with the restaurants. Please call us at (425) 334-4374 or PM EricS on TBN with questions or comments.

Welcome Paul and Madeleine to TBN and the PNW Group. Have you loged into the Roll Call for PNW owners. I listed as in Bellingham because it is the closest to us.

Cindy and I are very pleased to see the number of folks interested in this cruise. Around the end of March I will post a reminder about hotel reservations and start making arrangements for the lunches and dinner.
If you haven't decided yet, you still have several weeks to check your calendar or consult with your social director. Of course if you have any questions you can send me a PM. Thanks!

Sounds like a beautiful summer drive Paul. Maybe start in Bellingham, and end up in Burlington. Just a suggestion. Tim Rowand ( Oak Harbor High graduate 1968)

Go on, plan it. :waterbanana: :waterbanana:

Pick a day and we will all show up. But don't pick a date that falls on the same time EricS & steelblue5505 are celebrating TBN's s 10th in Nashville.

As soon as the tempture rises above 70 deg, I will post a trip! Understand
that their will not be a long lead time due to unperdictable cloud and rain
conditions for the Mt Baker area, but will not overlap other posted trips.

I suggest planning for mid July or August so people can mark the dates. At least for us a short notice probably won't work very well because of so many commitments that need to be dealt with. Just some input from a former cruise director. LOL Tim

There you go ! It starts with a few new parts for your T-Bird Then you start going on these cruises, before long you begin to howel at the moon and drink your bath water.... T-Bird fever! On the serious side- Mt Baker or Mt. St. Helens sounds like great trips..Cheers Dennis

Just went online to book a room at the America's Best Value Inn at Winthrop and they are booked up for the 2nd of June. Found a room at the Winthrop in just a fe blocks north for $83+ (includes taxes. If you haven't booked yet try central reservations.net. They list a number of small properties with rooms available. Hi Terry and Kathy- I called the 509-996-3100 hotel # last week and got a room with no problem. I think by calling the hotel direct line would possibly help. Anyway, glad you guys are going to be there. Should be fun! Later Tim and Debbie

It is time for Cindy and I to start making lunch and dinner reservations for thie cruise. Right now we count eight T-birds making the trip, plus perhaps one joining us just for lunch in Leavenworth. Great! That's 18 people for lunch in Leavenworth and 16 for dinner in Winthrop and lunch in Arlington.

If you haven't reserved your room in Winthrop, I recommend you do it right away. As of April 4 the America's Best Value Inn in Winthrop still had rooms - call them directly at (509) 996-3100.

There is still time to sign up if you would like to go, but please do so soon. Or if you signed up but have to cancel, please let us know.
Thanks.

Change of Saturday meeting location. Due to the new WA-522 ramp to US 2 in Monroe, it is difficult to get to the originally proposed meeting location. Let's instead meet at the Starbucks at the east end of Monroe - 19813 Hwy 2. Heading east through Monroe, it will be on your left in the in Monroe Plaza. Pull into the Albertson's parking lot and it will be in a strip mall on your left next to the Video Factory. Monroe Plaza is just past the Safeway (there is a Starbucks inside the Safeway - don't go there) and just before the last stoplight in Monroe heading east. Also note that if you Google this Starbucks, for some reason it shows up in the Safeway parking lot. (I reported this Google error to the Starbucks store.) My cell is 425-345-2048 if you want help getting to Starbucks.
The plan remains to meet about 9:30 and leave Monroe at 10:00. We will have lunch at Visconti's (Italian) in Leavenworth rather than the Andreas Keller. Parking is much better for Visconti's. Our reservation is for 20 people at noon. Our dinner reservation in Winthrop is for 18 people at Carlos 1800 (Mexican) at 6:00 p.m. Sunday breakfast is on your own. Lunch Sunday will be the Sunday Buffet at Angle of the Winds casino near Arlington - they will have a big table for us.
I look forward to seeing you all on June 2. Thanks.
