I am about to order my 2003 in Pennsylvania.
Is it realistic to try to bargain the price down a $1,000 or more?

Duke583, It wouldn't hurt to try, but sence the production for the 03's will be cut in half I don't know if you will get anywhere with this. It doesn't hurt to try.

That's debateable about how many will be built. One very reliable source says that the number won't be reduced just the time is severely shortened. But then we're getting reliable reports that dealers' allotments are being cut in half so that swings the rumor to less being built. My calculations bring it to 15K to 18K being built for 2003 if rate of production is not increased for the 2003s when they start.
If the dealers in Pennsylvania still have 02s on the lot then it may be reasonable to dicker the price down.

Ford will be producing at the same rate as now, 2200 per month, so there will be plenty of T-birds avaliable. My dealer has 12 on the showroom floor, 8 more on the way, and will sell for about 1500 under MSRP.

I saw a message on another digest that I am on and two Seattle area
dealers are offering 2002's for under $35,000. It said there are
three on the lot of one dealer in Red, Yellow and Black. No other
details......
