Hello from Canada;
Been lurking here as well for awhile and have picked up some great info from the inhabitants here! Tire pressure/cross brace torqueing/hard top problem/hoist etc. etc. Thanks for all that !! Got my new 2002 in Aug 2003 as a 20th anniversary gift for my wife & I. Got her the plate "LOVEBIRD" Was in the right place at the right time...got a super deal. She is too afraid to drive it which means that I have to drive it ALL the time...too bad !:naughty: Got the fabulous T-Bird blue with full accent/white top. First oil change today and unfortunately getting ready to store it for the winter!!:bawl:
Saw the threads re: comments about the T-Bird...funny, I've noticed little kids are always ready to shout ..."hey, nice car!" as you cruise by...adults often just have the mouth agape. It's interesting when someone in a Bimmer or a Mercedes just can't keep their eyes off the Bird! Been keeping all the local Chiropractors busy fixing the strained necks up here in Oakville , Ontario (near the big Ford plant here!) A little old lady asked me the other day with a puzzled look..."Is this a new car?...Or an old car?"....perfect assessment of an instant classic I thought!!

Welcome to the flock, impeccable taste in color combination, I had to buy a white top recently to match yours! I usually advise newbies to use the search key to learn all about our great automobiles, but you probably already know since you've been lurking here. Have fun here!

Thanks for the welcome....I notice all the Blue Birds have flocked together here!!. Interesting that you have 2 tops Phil...I was having trouble tripping over just the one in my garage. Building a manual hoist gizmo for lifting it on and off. Aircraft cable/pullies and cleat from 'Home Depot' cost about $30. I was able to snatch my car away from a couple who didn't like the white top...their loss was my gain Yes and will love to cruise down from the Great White North to some of your events here and there. Often go down to the Carolinas especially my favourite town...Charleston SC.

Yes , a trip to Charleston S.C. takes about 15 hrs from here. I can see a line of T-Birds cruising down that fabulous road into Kiawah Island with the spanish moss hanging down from the live oaks that form that beautiful canopy...like a tunnel almost....spectacular place.

OK, Karyl.....be careful how you use that word 'we'll'.:worried: It could be mistaken in the context you're writing. I think she's a little under stress about the Biltmore venture.:puzzled: Please disregard anything she is saying. She really hasn't been herself since she reached a thousand posts.:tyty: Just look at Blunbird and Gobird.:friday:Soon they'll have her knitting blankets and such.:joker:

Oh, JerryP! Wouldn't you just love it if I became domesticated??!!
Gobird might even teach me how to cook grits and bagels!
And Teebirdy..Kiawah is great, but, OH--- Edisto Island!!! My kind of place!!! Live oaks with Spanish moss, the "Edisto Island Hammock", the "Ha'nt" tree, the "bikini tree", the ACE Basin, bikes, waterway, creeks, crabbing, history! A little piece of heaven with a scrapbooking store!
I'm ready...let's go! I'll even do Kiawah!

Hey Rick!
Welcome to the Nest. I've noticed as well how many young kids and early teens are taken with the new Thunderbird - none of whom would remember the classics of the 50's that our cars resemble. I suppose they are just admiring a sharp looking vehicle.

I'm amazed you could find a new 2002 blue in August 2003!

All the Ford dealers up here started to clear out their old stock this summer. You could find the odd 2002 here and there going for $39-42K Cdn.. My friend is good pals with the owner of a dealership and he gave me the lead on the last new blue 2002 in town! Friend has the twin to mine! When I saw his last year I was always teasing him that he had my car and he better take good care of it! When this one came up I was just about to buy a 2003 James Bond 007 version...liked the blue 2002 much better!!! Like I said...my lucky day...made the deal over the phone in 5 minutes flat!

 Welcome! teebirdy,
Just a little tidbit of info for you - you couldn't have picked a better avatar as that one also has a white top parked in the garage.

Thanks for the lottery info...sent in my $100...a good cause, and I've got one more spot in the garage ready for that coral beauty! I'll even put up with the white seats if I win it! When I bought my 2002 new in august...the dealer had 2 others :black and black with full accent. Looks like anybody who absolutely needed to have one had already pruchased. Saw the 007 at another dealer and it was going for $66k. Cdn. Saved a bundle on mine ...and prefer the T-Bird blue anyhoo!!!!!

I would be happy to get one of the prints!
Hope to meet you. Possibly next year at a SOTC event!
Best regards :bestwish: :canada:

Yes..I'll show for those events for sure...just missed out this season, will join that SOTC for sure and bring along one family member at a time...nice thing about having only one passenger at a time is that you get that person one on one to spend that special quality time as opposed to the whole hoard at once in a another vehicle. First month I think my wife & I drank 50 gals. of coffee going to coffee shops etc!! We'll meet up at one of those events, I'm sure.
