Well, now that we're back from Destin, it's time to put the hardtop on. I did it tonight. I will say the car is quieter with it on and there's more headroom too. I like the convertible better though, but the car does look great with the hardtop. Spring can't get here soon enough for me.:bawl:

I thought it was my imagination that the hardtop gave me more head room..... I feel a little bit better now that someone else has the same thought!
I know what you mean - I installed my top two weeks ago - it is by no means convertible weather any longer in Northern NJ. :bawl:

I concur, the hard top makes it look so much more classic. But, people just can't get enough of this car, every stop we had someone comment on the car or thumbs up while traveling. My top will be cleaned and put on by the end of the week. Boo HOOO

Not going to give up yet. Took an evening cruise to Niagra falls, heater on, wife put on a blanket and off we went. Got a lot of looks but didn`t feel to out of place following a horse and carage down the streets of Niagra on the lake.

Sad to say that we will put the top on in a few days. (I want to make sure the convertible top is completely dry for a 5 or 6 month stay in the well.) We took it off 10 minutes after getting it home in April, and it's been covered since.
I plan to:
Dry the cloth top.
Heavy wax on the top/deck contact area.
Clean the hard top mounting surface.
Silicone the hold down pocket on the A-Piller.
Install the mylar film.
Any other suggestions??????

Red, I am going to do the same things.
But, as you all in Atlanta know, we will have a few more top down days between now and mid-November. So i am going to wait about 2 or 3 more weeks to put the hard top on.
Like, red, i took mine off minutes after arriving home with it. so I am actually looking forward to 3 or 4 months of driving/looking at the car with the top on.:music::pbj::music::pbj::thumbsup:

I'm still hanging in there with the soft top...the morning commutes have been a bit chillly, but that's what the heater's for!! The other commuters on I85 probably think I'm crazy, but it's actually quite comfortable...
I told myself that the hardtop would be on from November through February, so I've got one more week...:bawl: But I do agree with the others that the cars looks awesome with the hardtop on (looks great without it too!)...
Speaking of the spring and when the hardtop comes back off, have you other Atlantans given thought to our lovely pollen count each spring? Will this deter you from putting the hardtop back on before April??:moreek:

Flybrd, Ask your physician for allegro (sp) no side effects, at least for me as I cannot even look at an antihistamine. But even if it does bother you, just think how much broader our vision will be with the top off. I have become such a "great" driver with the top off I am terrified to put it on! Nice to meet you in Destin!

I'm not worried about allergies, I'm worried about all that pollen getting in every nook and cranny in my car!!!
Great to meet you too!! Hope we can do it again soon!:music:

I hope I don't make y'all feel bad but down here in sunny FL we are just getting into the good convertible weather. For the past 6 months it has been 95 - 96 degrees on the way home in the afternoon.

Joe, I don't want to make you feel bad but you missed out on the best T-Bird get together of all time. Sorry you couldn't make it. Will see you in the future.

Here in Phoenix, we're just now taking the tops off. And oh yeah, glad to FINALLY be back with you folks. Took a while to reconnect me to the server here at work!

I also just took off my top now that the weather has broke in Florida. I used to be the only one around with a red with a white top now I see two others driving around in my area. I'm just waiting for my wife to spot them with a Babe in the car so I can get the third degree.
