Note the car doesn't have the V-8 emblem on the side like the 2003's. Either this is a very early pre-production or they are not going to put it on the 007 car.

The car is nice (but not as pretty as the '02 blue). Husband (Ken) likes the car and the girl!

The model that I have doesn't have the V-8 on the side either.

Wow! I didn't realize how good that would look in person, rather than seeing only small pics. Nice "optional equipment" in the foreground also!

Will the coral color only be available for the James Bond Special Edition TBirds?

Nu-TBRD - yes - it is only available on the special edition. However, the paint code will be available so you could paint another t-bird that color. Some of the interior treatments for the special edition will be difficult or expensive to obtain.

Thanks, MrTony, for another shot of the coral 'bird. Haven't seen you around here for quite awhile. Glad you're keeping up with us.

Since it looks like production will start in late Jan or early Feb. Ford should be telling the dealers who has allocation for a "007" model by November. Based on 700 units produced - the odds are 6:1 against any given dealer getting one. I wonder if they will use a drawing, go on CSI scores or base allocation on actual sales in 2002?

Now Bob,

What did Sandee tell you in Destin? Did she see this pic too? Somehow I doubt it!

of course she didn't see it - or my post:toungue:

that's why she bought me the stainless cup cooler and the red (should be black or silver) cooler you showed her. :smokin:

I'm sure that as soon as dealers are told if they have allocation, someone will report it here on the board. Then you start calling every dealer that is close and ask if they have one to input, or if they know who has allocation. Lets hope the dealers that sell at MSRP are the ones that get them! That would be nice recognition for the good dealers who didn't gouge their customers. Duane

Cindy, the bigwig at Wixom told us to get to know your dealer extremely well. I think its going to be a shot in the dark to be even considered. I asked the dealer/owner at the show and shine in Texas about getting on a list of his and he said he doubts he will even be considered. He said he was too small. Go figure. BTW you guys would look great in that car.

Spoke to a Wixom employee today and was told that so far they have made 60 coral birds and they are all spoken for.

ylo brd - is that Wixom employee saying that the 03 production has started? I've only received word from some with very early VINS that their regular production 'birds won't start down the line until the week of Nov. 18. That would mean that those Bond cars are pre-production 03s?? Haven't heard from anyone that they've even received ordering info for the Bond cars yet but it should have been out by now?? old rumors had stated that the Bond cars wouldn't start down the assembly line until January and the Ford spokeswoman on the Today show said they wouldn't be out on the market until next spring.

edited: wonder if they're planning to use those for the movie premiere's around the country??

I really didn't question him about the 03's, I should have. It does sound like these bond birds are pre-production models. Around here, you never know who you run into on the street, with the plant so close, I often get stopped by workers wanting to know how I like the car.

The Bond car featured on the Today Show yesterday was definitely an '02 model. I videotaped the show and scrutinized it later. Although it had the "Coral" exterior and the white interior, it had no V8 emblem, and had '02 instrumentation and shifter pattern.

Crain's Automotive News, Nov 4, 2002 has short "Briefs" (not underwear) article about 700 production number at price 43,000 (does not come with revolving machine guns or rockets.)

Also, Revlon display at drugstore has little pamphlet about sweepstakes, has picture of Dot Lang's blue Thunderbird.
