Exciting to find this forum for the newer T-birds. As a former Lightning owner/racer, I was on the National Lightning forum constantly. This is great.
Now for a few questions.
1. Are the driving lights/fog lights always suppose to stay on? On the headlight switch you can pull it out, which I assumed would turn them on and off, like my Lightning. Looks like they are to remain on all the time, correct?
2. My bird seems to hesitate, like turbo lag, when starting from a dead stop, is this normal for the Bird?
3. Anyone adding any aftermarket performance enhancements that have been helpful?
Looking forward to participating in the group.

Welcome to the nest. That hesitation is not right and you should have service look at it next service call. As for after market performance, you'll find a lot of related posts by doing a search. at the top of your screen
BTW, the manual is very good so the time you spend to read it is time well spent.

Welcome Tom from OH,
As far as I know the lights operate on a sensor to automatically come on when it gets dark or you can switch to manual operate but never always on.
I don't have a hesitation problem so if it is a symptom of something then maybe someone else will answer that question.
There are enhancements for performance (exhaust sytems, filters, etc.) handling (tires, wheels, etc.) and appearance improvements (chrome hood bezel, logo mats, lights, etc.). There are hundreds of threads and thousands of posts regarding this.
Again welcome, your gonna love this place.

Ohio Bird - Welcome - I was born in southern Ohio but lived most of my life in Michigan. Still get down for family visits every year or so. You'll beat me to top-down weather by at least two weeks.
The "supplemental" lights in the bumper are on whenever your parking or headlights are on. They are not "driving lights" since they are actually an appearance item, and do no real illumination of the road. I know many members say their light switch "pulls out" but mine never has.
Lag is not norman. My car is very responsive.
Search for Borla, K&N, chip, dyno tune, etc. and you will find lots of reading material!

I am also wondering what the function of pulling-out the headlight switch is supposed to be?
Perhaps, on T'birds, it isn't meant to have a function and it is a part Ford uses on other vehicles, where it does have a purpose?
Do any of you know?

Welcome to the flock. Use the search key to get most any question answered. Be patient, many of us here stray way off topic before getting to the point. :bs:

The headlamp switch is the same in the Linc LS and thats the reason it pulls out. Has no function in the T Bird. It will not turn the fog/running lamps off. Fog lights come on with the parking lamps and will only go off when the high beams are activated.
As for the delayed engaement from a stop have your dealer check out.

Tom,
In reference to this:
2. My bird seems to hesitate, like turbo lag, when starting from a dead stop, is this normal for the Bird?
Check to see if your car was built between 11/02 and 5/03. If it was, there's a TSB #03-15-8 that calls for a reprogramming of the transmission. I had it done on my car and it made all the difference in the world. It takes about an hour for them to do it. I had lag and hard shifting, and this took care of it. It was like a completely different car after they applied the fix.
