I just bought a 2002 Thunderbird and joined TBN. My bird is a torch red hardtop with the New Hampshire license plate ANDRSN. Hope to meet some of your members at the Fitchburg car show on the 18th of April. Thanks for all the helpful posts. Bob

Bob:
Welcome to the nest. I'm sure you'll enjoy that Bird as much as the rest of us enjoy ours.
I look forward to meeting you in person on the 18th at Fitchburg. So far I believe that there will be 12-14 cars caravaning in from The Sheraton Four Points Hotel just off the Route 2 Exit 31B to route 12.
If you need directions or anything else, just ask. If you know of any other T Birders, bring them along.

Welcome Bob. You will enjoy yourself here. BTW, Where is Hooksett? I lived at Pease AFB in Portsmouth for about six years on two different tours but don't remember Hooksett.

trpar (Ted): So you spent some time at Pease AFB. (ref. post #10). I don't know how long ago that was, but here's an update for you:
The base got caught up in those "dreaded base closings" and back in the early '90's they started converting it into an industrial park. Only about 30 acres left before they'll be completed building. You wouldn't recognize it anymore.
Although there is still a Nat'l Guard Refueling Wing there, it is mostly industrial space.
The airstrip is also used by Pan Am who is flying out of there as well, mostly to Sanford, FL. The only other use it gets is when AF 1 is here in New England
I hope this didn't bore others, but Ted is in NE and he may be interested...

MATBird, I was there from '69-72 and 78-81. Yes, I heard about the closing and thought it was a shame. It was a great place to be stationed.
