Really love the Vintage Mint Green color. Nothing but ooh's and aah's from people who see it. Too bad Ford discontinued the color. We have the white hard top which really looks nice when the weather gets to dicey for the soft top. The Black interior with white inserts is very sharp as well.

04Green! We need your car at Thunder Isle. We are trying to get one of each color for a group picture for our 2005 calendar. Please check the Thunder Isle threads under "upcoming and past events" in the forums section!!!

I don't know where Douglasville, GA is, but it cannot be too far from Lake Lanier.

Your TBN needs you!

Welcome to the flock, best site for new Bird owners. Yes, do come to ThunderIsle, many of us (me too) have not seen a VMG in person and would like to. Besides, I think it's the only remaining color we need to draw in to get them all covered for the event.

Hi All,

Loved all the posts and hope to meet you all at Thunder Isle. We are juggling a social calendar that includes commitments in Atlanta Friday nite and early Satudrday afternoon. Would love to drive up to Lake Lanier Sat AM (early morning drive with the top down is a great way to wake up!) just to stop by and visit. That is about all we can squeeze into our schedule. What would be a good time to be there? We would need to head back home by 10:00 - 10:30 to make our afternoon commitment.

Douglasville is about 25 miles due west of Atlanta on I-20. Lake Lanier is about 1 - 1 1/2 hour drive. to the Northeast. This is our first T'bird and are loving every minute of it.

Does anyone know how to find out how many VMG T'birds were mfg'd now that the color is no longer offered? I know the PCR is the Limited Edition by Ford's choice (and it is a sharp looking car!) but I would think some of the retro colors may have a fairly limited run as well.

Green w/envy -

How early Saturday morning could you be there? I am asking so I can try to coordinate the photography shoot on Saturday morning, since you cannot be there Friday afternoon.

Drew & 04Green w/ Envy,

There have been 605 Vintage Mint Green Thunderbirds made. As of May 7, 2004 there were 504 Ice Blue Thunderbirds either built or ordered and scheduled. With capacity to accept orders for an additional 1,500 units before the end of the model year the VMG has an excellent chance of being the rarest of all colors (excepting the Neiman Marcus).

You've virtually got a lock on the rarest color, even if only 10% of the 1,500 remaining cars ordered are LIB, you've got it.

Thanks for the update. Do you know how many were made with the Performance White Hard Top and Performance White Partial Accent combo?

Nice to know that the kids will have a true legacy ... if we don't drive the wheels off first. My daughter loves to come visit so she can drive the T'bird. Loves it as much as her Mini-Cooper.

Dave and Claire,

Thanks for the nice note and picture. Donna and I really didn't know what to expect when we committed to an early Saturday drive to ThunderIsle. We were greeted warmly by all and felt very welcome. We are happy that we were able to complete the color palette for the picture. Can't wait to see some of the pictures from the ladder.

All of the cars were fun to see. We had never seen some of the colors either. We are still partial to our VMG. My son in law and I went to a local vintage car show and our T'bird drew a crowd in the parking lot. Even the vintage T'bird owners were impressed.

We don't know what our schedule will bring but we are keeping Mother's Day open for next year if we can .....
