I'd like some help with a little road trip my wife and I are thinking of taking the week before Christmas. First, let me say that we would have loved to have flown somewhere, but returning on christmas day is not going to cut it unfortunately. Soooooo... we're thinking of an 8 day road trip. One possibility is to go to the Keys..(been in Florida 21 years never made it to Key West). But 8 days in Margaritaville might be a bit much. So I"m thinking of heading north to New Orleans, then up the Miss. River to Natchez across to Alabama and back down to Florida. Never been to that area, so I don't know beans about it... what to see, do, etc. Any information anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thaks in advance...

Don't rule out NC!
Biltmore Estate (assuming the river recedes and you can get in the gate!)
Old Salem (historic Moravian settlement)
Around Charlotte are lots of Nascar and racing museums, etc.
And there's lots of "Pressley's " here!
Now THERE'S a 'can't miss'!!
