Much to my delight and surprise, I was asked by my local Thunderbird club, Water Wonderland Thunderbirds, to accept the Vice President position for a year. The elected person had to step down after the 1st of a 2 year term, and the board asked if I would fill in. After much thought I accepted, and it was announced at our Christmas party on Sunday evening. Any of you in the Metro Detroit area that are looking for a club, consider WWTC, a few of the TBN group are already members.

Yes, I think that means she will not be able to accept the responsibilities and heavy workload associated with being TBN Secretary. Too bad, Joanne!.........
Brenda, does this mean I get her votes, or do I have to share with Janice?

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone, this should be a fun experience, or at least I hope so.
Karyl and Brenda,
Concede????? It will never happen!!! I'm in this Secretary race until the very last vote is counted and maybe re-counted. If anything, this new position I've taken has gotten me more reved up to continue with the campaign until the very end. What is that saying? I'm woman, I can
multi-task!!!

Dennis,
Thanks for the vote of confidence. We keep sneaking more and more retro birds in the door and pretty soon, things will change around. This club is mainly older birds, and when I first decided to join, I wasn't sure that we were exactly welcome. As more and more of us are joining, and some of the older members are buying new birds as a mate for their old ones, the attitude has definately changed. This club has been around for a long time, and new blood is a good thing. Remember Dennis, besides looking out for me, your also my official interpreter.

Joanne, Congrats on this but is there that much vice in your club that it needs a vice president to see over all of those kinds of things.:poke: :shocked2:

Gobird,
I do live in the Detroit area. What does that tell you? Actually maybe they'ed welcome a bit of "vice action". Your all going to get me kicked out of my new position before I get a chance to show them how valuable I really am!

Check your grill. Isn't there a TBN badge there?

Rustyfrye,
You are really on the ball, even with all those drugs your taking! I can't remember if Dennis has a TBN badge or not something makes me think he didn't get one.

Please mark May 14, 2005 on your calendar, to join our local club to tour the “Memories” Garage at Jerome Duncan Ford, in Sterling Heights, MI. Dick Duncan and Wally Tennyson curators of the museum promise that we will be treated to some of Ford’s most cherished collection of 28 cars and memorabilia. They have a Thunderbird for most of the decades on display. There is also a 46 Lincoln and a Model A in process of restoration. You will be hard pressed to find an inch of wall space or counter that is not covered by collectables.
In the courtyard, they have the original front façade of the old Lincoln plant. You can enjoy sitting in the courtyard or getting your picture taken. In addition to all of that, they will roll out some of the cars to join our line up of fine Thunderbirds. We will have reserved parking around the courtyard.
The dealership is excited that we chose to celebrate our fiftieth anniversary with them. The Duncan’s promised to roll out the red carpet. They will be advertising our event, so others can enjoy looking at our cars. There will be some giveaways, such as, collectable posters and trinkets. Lets have a great showing of the cars we prize!
The “Memories” Garage is located on Ford Country Lane (17 ½ Mile Road) behind the dealership. The dealership is located on M53 (Van Dyke) between 17 & 18 Mile Roads.
The tour begins at 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. After the tour, we will caravan north to have lunch at Chubby’s BBQ Restaurant. Chubby’s is located on M59, just east of the M53 Freeway, on the south side of the road. We will need a count of people that are coming. This will allow the dealership to prepare and the restaurant will have an idea of the number of settings. Please PM me if you wish to attend

The Wixom tour will likely be June 1st or 7th...

Thanks Harry!
Being the tour of the "Old Garage" is on a Saturday, it would be hard to schedule a wixom tour then. I know that Harry is working for a last and final tour of Wixom. So sad that there may little to look at in the way of Thunderbirds rolling down the line!

Dennis,
Sorry we couldn't get a tour to coincide with the "Old Garage" tour but that would have been pretty close to Thunderfever. Also Wixom would only give us a tour on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. The June 1 (primary) and June 7th dates were selected to facilitate those going to, or coming from, Carlisle. BTW, on average, every eighth car on Wixom's main line is a Thunderbird.
You should start a new thread about the Old Garage tour as it's easily missed on this thread.

Dennis, Great job on setting this up, Dan and I will be there for sure! I agree with Harry, you can leave this on under the Michigan Chapter but, give it the individual thread that it deserves or, maybe you could ask Justin to move it for you. This will be a fun event and hopefully others can join our WWTC group that day.

Dennis,
If you want to post it under the Michigan Chapter, just go to the top of this page, on the left hand side, you'll see "Michigan Chapter", click on that. You will be taken to a page with all threads under that group name. Just under the menu bar on the left hand side, click on New Thread. That will take you to the blank screen to put in your new thread name, and then type in your message. The other way to get to the same page on any forum is to click on "forums" on the menu bar, scroll down to the forum you want to post in, click on that name, and again under the menu bar click "new thread", and your on your way. Good luck, if you need any more help, you have my number.
