Tape for under the hard top

The owners manual for 03 states that the tape is only good for 4000 miles. I wonder why that is? It sure seems like Ford considers the tape a permanent fix.

I really hate to say this but I think we are going to have to find our own permanent fix for the hard top fix. This may be expel or something else. I don't think we well get any help from Ford on this. I think we are on our own here. :sad::sad: Just one of the few things that we can complain about on the new Bird. Hope I am wrong but I don't see anything happening or coming from Ford.

How about if we contact the Legends5 guy and see if he's interested in making a brushed chrome strip for the sail plane area? I would even let Bruiser be the test car for this application. It might look like crap or it might look great. How about it folks? Is there enough interest to approach Legends5 with this project?

I think that was responded to months ago when someone took a tour of the factory. Remember that they tested the chrome strip last spring? The chrome strip seemed to cause more damage to the paint besides looking like crap.

When we took the tour back in August, as we were leaving the plant, an employee drove up in a prototype 03, black with the saddle interior. It had the stainless steel strip on it and it looked to be glued on and was not holding at the edges. They told us they were not going to use it in the production model. I think there were pictures posted at the time.
