Of all the accessories & options out their, the one I would like to see the most for my yellow t-bird is a White Soft Top.

After seeing many photos of t-birds, I have to say my favorite are the pictures of the yellow and blue birds with the white hard top. Since putting the hard top on and off is not as easy as the soft top, a white soft top would be nice.

I wish Ford would have this option. I would replace my black soft top in a heart beat. I think the white soft tops would also look better on the red and especially the blue birds. I know many classic blue cars with white tops.

My 2nd favorite option is definitely the Legend5 kit. I will be definitely getting that. I am holding out until after Christmas. I am hoping the 1,000 hints I gave my wife will work.

Boy I would also. Ford even has the black top on the 007. Dumb huh?

Having lived with a white vinyl top on our 57 for 20 years, I'd say that though the look is good, it's very labor intensive to keep clean. We finally went to a dark green top on it which we love even more.
The fabric softtops look so much better than vinyl tops but I'm not sure there is any white fabric softtop material available and that would be just as hard , if not harder, to keep clean.

Pa-Bird, don't forget Legend5 is giving ThunderbirdNest a $50 discount on the dash kit....but that ends on December 31. Just a reminder, since you sound like you are about to buy one.

I love the look of white convertible tops, but I have seen a lot of them get dirty very quickly, from friends that have bought new cars in the past with white convertible tops. It would be beautiful on the new Tbird and I'm sure that Ford will come out with a white top sometime in the next year, probably for a special edition model. I do like the option of having other color convertible tops for the Thunderbird and I hope that Ford can come up with some ther colors for us besides black.

A few years ago my wife had a Silver Mustang GT convertible with a white top and interior. We thought it looked sharp.
The next year Ford discontinued the White top. I asked one of my dealers if he knew why and he said that the dealers don't like them on used cars. They are too hard to clean after a year or two and forced dealers to replace too many light colored tops, just so they could sell the used convertibles.

Thanks for the tip joelja. I completely forgot about the $50 discount. From the evidence mounting it looks like my 1,000 hints that I gave my wife was not enough. Oh well, the money to pay for it will still come out of the same piggy bank.

With regards to keeping the white top clean, I could see that it would definitely be easier to have black. However, my neighbor has a vet with a white top and after two years has not a mark on it. I still would prefer the white top, then I could get the tires white walled as I saw another bird owner do.

ps. Is everyone's computer snowing? I already have 2-inches on the keyboard. Nice!

Two inches on the keyboard is easier to deal with than the 6 to 8 inches of the real stuff that is still falling outside. Cancelled our travel plans, but still a Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas to all on the Thunderbird Net!!!:pbj:
