Why wasn't the Full Interior Accent Package offered with the Saddle Interior?:puzzled:
Presently, it looks incomplete and more of
an "after-thought"...

This interior could have been breathtaking
with the Full Accent Package....

Being somewhat of a risk taker; I ordered my Mountain shawdow Gray exterior/saddle interior based on unofficial pictures depicting saddle side door panels and dash trim. Boy was I surprised when I went to the dealer for pick up. Now I will use a $300 wood trim kit to finish up trying to tie the seats/shifter nob/partial steering wheel to the rest of the black interior.

jimjet, when you get it done, be sure to take some photos and let us see how it turned out.

Welcome to the ThunderbirdNest!

I haven't seen the new saddle interior in person yet, but I'm surprised that Ford didn't continue the saddle color along the console, dash and doors too. In the early photos that many of have seen, showing that interior color, those areas were saddle-color and it looked great.

Just as 5bird7 stated above, please post photos of the additional trim that you are about to add to the interior. We all love to look at the way each other customizes their Tbird's. You might want to check out the "Gallery" section of this forum, to see some of our cars.

Attached is a photo from a 1968 Thunderbird brochure showing the saddle interior. Note that it the color was called "saddle" then as well. Some interior components are black and it looks very good. We should have been given more of a saddle interior option than what Ford provided this time.

the brochure of the 68 looks good with the saddle, I am like some others I too wish they would have put some on the doors to tie it all in. when I was in wixom and saw that I was told that is what they thought was the best. They do like it up there. I just think it is a litte in complete for me, but thats why there are more than just black birds:biggrin:

OK - here's my comments about the partial interiors overall for 2003- look at the figures as Red posted them from the 2002 Production figures:
Partial Interior Pkg........................2474................... .7.9%
Full Interior Color Pkg..................13934..................44.8%
Seems to me that Ford's only covering up the fact that many people wanted the full accent interior color packages on their cars.
I suspect that this is really a cost cutting measure and not a "looks best." After all, this is a short run model year, and they may not continue with that interior color in 2004. It's much cheaper to order all black door panels and consoles and dashes than to order a mix of white and saddle along with the black especially in the lower numbers that will be made this year.

I just wish Ford would quit being so conservative about color on these non-conservative cars! -- oops! then there's that show car that's silver with the mustard interior :ugone2far:- but then those are the designers choices not the budget fixers.
