View Full Version : A poll for the general Houston area...
DTBird
Mar 31, 2005, 09:43 PM
I would like to ask anyone in the GENERAL Houston area who might be reading this (members or not) who have T-birds of any year, and would be interested in a day cruise and/or meeting for dinner, and sharing our birds and company. (My English teacher would now remind me about run-on sentences)
This poll is not a commitment. It is to: (1) only reflect interest and the number of people in our area who have t-birds, and (2) who would like to see their car parked in a flock (a "Kodak" moment!).
But please respond with what area you are in (Spring, Sugar Land, Galveston, Brenham, etc), and if you would prefer a day cruise and/or "eat and meet", (Did I just coin a phrase?) oh, and if you think the Gypsies are in fact a legitimate organization. (let's see what pushing THAT button does) Just kidding you guys.
I personally feel that a "meet and eat" would be best for starters. I'm in the central Houston area. Thanks in advance to all who respond. I know there may be someone who has not written in yet. Just let us know you are there.
Thanks again!

By the way, we'd welcome anyone from outside our area if they wanted to make the trip!

An informal group of about 5 of us have been getting together at a place called the French Quarter on Hwy 6 in the Copperfield area. None of em are TBN types but they all love to meet, eat, drink and talk T-Birds. We have talked about "crashing" some type of monthly cruise that a bunch of 'vette types do somewhere down on Holcombe and teh Southwest Freeway. It would be nice for a dozen T-Birds to show up at a group of 'vette snobs lil drive around. We will be getting together again in a few weeks, I'll keep you informed.

Bruce, I LOVE THAT!!!!! A bunch of Thunderbirds crashing a corvette gathering sounds great!! You, my friend are true Gypsy material and need to ride with us. And how cool it would be for the 75 Thunderbirds at ThunderFever to drive over to Bowling Green, KY and take photos in front of the corvette factory.

Daniel,
Been a season ticket holder for over 20 years. Am in the Zone now and love it. I had 50 yd line faculty seats for years then moved to the Zone when my faculty friend died ( took the guys at the ticket office 3 years to figure it out), I really like the game experience from the endzone, you get a better perspective of the plays, the only problem is the depth perception but the Jumbotron fixes that.
What class are you ?
Hope to see you at the French Quarter in a few weeks.

Jim, I can't wait to see the finished product. It could end up being the Thunder Fever Mascot some day! (How the heck would we get it there?)
It looks aggressive and the way I would imagine it to be. Do you leave the finish as is or would you paint it (maybe turquois with black trim)?

Hi Bruce,
We have gotten tickets through a former player that we're friends with. They're around the 30, student side / south end. 7 years and counting.
My better half is class of 90. I am technically a senior there, but in getting back from Desert Storm I got married and shortened my college career by a year and a half by graduating from SHSU ( b.a. in Industrial Tech.)
I have to find this french quarter place...I'm sure I've seen it and not knew what I was looking at.

Will leave it silver, working on the Talons now, might have it grabbing an iron snake, not sure yet... will wait to see how that will work..... will add a pic of the finished "product" once done..
Jim

How 'bout it grabbing a little die cast Mazda Miata? (My not-so-sincere apologies to Miata drivers)

Hi "o"'
Was a member of the San Jacinto corvette club for years. We showed the cars at local dealers and Corvette Expo at G.R.Brown Convention Center. Great bunch of knowledgeable, friendly people with fabulous corvettes. Was on assignment in Canada for a year and half and dropped out. We still talk now and then, especially the wives and my wife.

If you want to see some classic vetts and tbirds come to Wheels and Keels this weekend in Seabrooke. I'll be showing my '65 Corvette. Several fabulous Thunderbirds there, including '55-'57. Excellent cars and boats, many of which I don't know the make.
