Thanks for the wixom tour....
too Joanne, Steve, Harry, and the others who help set this up, and who rounded out the day with the lunch at Don's.
Thanks to the hospitality of the michigin chapter for their hospitality... :pinkie: A real fun bunch!
Thanks to the gang at Ford.. The tour guides were great colorful bunch, and it was great to see an industry that is so synominious with US pride and labor up close. What a shot in the arm....
One fun note was seeing the Towncars being chopped up and extended into Limos... Damn....
...and the GT... I got to sat in a "customer paid" GT. That car us pure sex.
Thanks again!!!

So, Archie, were you "alone" in the GT?
Just to clarify: Is a "customer paid" car a factory order, or one that a dealer sells to his special customers at MSRP?

Archiea,
Glad to see you made it home safe and sound, you had to be exhaused after a very.. long day. I thought it was so cool that you were able to rent the red bird to join in the group. We had fun doing it, and were so glad that so many members that had never been on the tour could experience it for the last time. Ford did go out of their way to show us a great time and I'll be sure and let them know how much we appreciate all they did for us. The fun continued last night and today with Henry Ford Estate, World Headquarters, local car show, and Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village.
Steve,
That picture of the group turned out great. If possible, I'd love to have a copy of it for my album. It was nice meeting you and I'm glad you had time to spend with the Ford engineers.

No, actually Imeant it to emphasize that we were instructed that the car we were going to sit in and drool over was a customer car, not just some demo model.. so it was to inform us to treat it as we would want other people to treat our own car.
I wonder which self centered exec, viagra-addicted CEO, or trust fund baby was to own that GT... Oh, do I sound jealeous?

Ed,
You've done a great job of identifying everyone. I'm having a hard time seeing the faces clearly on my screen, even with my new eyes so, I can't help you out much. Dennis may have left before the photo, if you see a guy in a black shirt, it's him. The Ford rep next to Steve is Dave Davis. Did you get jstbird-Steve, he has a full beard. How about tbird eh-Kevin, tall - dark hat - white shirt. Dennis York and his wife Mary (the3rdd) both have glasses, I think he had on a blue shirt.
Bob and Jeannette Sinickas, I remember she had long dark hair, they came in late for dinner on Tuesday. ShadeTBlue, Charlie and Lou Ann, drove a Thunderbird Blue and she was just recovering from a knee replacement. Bob Berens, had a white shirt on that said Kodak Easy Share. I hope some of these hints help you to id the people if I could see it clearer, I could probably get most of them.
Hope I didn't offend anyone by my discriptions of you. You were all a good looking crowd!!!!

Hello Gang! I just arrived home after a bumpy ride. After a beautiful 80 degree low humidity day touring the Henry Ford Museum with Joanne I come home to a rainy and nasty evening here in Raleigh. Joanne, Mark, and Steve were most hospitable. I am sure I speak for the group when I express my appreciation for their generosity and showing us out of towners such a great time.
A special thanks to Harry for organizing this as well or this post would be a mute point.
I cannot thank Joanne enough ... I have found a great Michigan friend who is sooooo much fun!

Nawh.. I wasn't making fun or your suggestion, I was making fun of my own suggestion of having a yearbook gallery... its great for folks like me who can't remember faces OR names!!! But having a VISUAL roster of the gang here would help so much when meeting the gang here in person...

I didn't see Harry's (Quickdraw) name mentioned. Wasn't he instrumental in organizing the tour? Which one is he?

Ray,
We were all disappointed that Harry didn't join us for the tour. We all had such a great time and it is my understanding that Harry essentially was resposible for setting it up. Harry, if your reading this, thanks a million. I could never have done this on any other day because it had to coincide with the Carlisle trip, so I thank you for getting it set up specifically for yesterday as well.
Thanks also to Joanne who did a great job with dinner arrangements, Alan for keeping everything organized on the website and Steve for setting up the hotel and the great cooler bag! You all did a fantastic job. Also, thanks to FORD and the Wixom folks specifically, they were outstanding and very accomodating.
It was a day that I'll forever remember.

Anyone who wants the full image of the Wixom Group photo, just drop me a PM and I will respond back with the image. Can I PM an attachment? Can it be 1.6 megs big? Never tried. If I can, I will do it Monday, after I get back from Carlile.
I have printed out five copies of the picture poster size, 24 X 36 which I will be bringing to Carlile. Let me know if you want one.

Thanks

It's great hearing from everyone, and knowing that you got home or to Carlisle safely. I know I can speak for Harry, Steve, and Alan when I say we really enjoyed having you all here, and hope you'll come back and visit us again. Even though Thunderbird production at Wixom is over next month, I think Steve has some good ideas for Motown Thunder in 2007. I will send Harry a note and tell him how much you all appreciate his efforts of initiating the tour, and wish that you could have met him. The Wixom management and employees went out of their way to be sure we had a wonderful time, my next email is to them expressing our apprecation.
We had perfect weather for cruising, the nicest we've had this season, today will be the rain that we so desperatly need. Thanks to Joe for riding with me and being my co-pilot, it made the mini tours a lot more fun! Your right, I am your new good friend in Mi. I was glad that this time I had the time to actually sit and talk with many of you at length, and get to know you better. The TBN group is the best!! It's so quiet here today with you all gone.

If anyone got a good shot of the Inka Gold and my Inspiration Yellow together, I'd really....appreciate getting a copy. Let me know and, I'm pm you my address.
Thanks

Ed,
Thanks for the flattering comment but, I usually take horrible pictures. You don't know how much I appreciate you sending me photos, they will bring back good memories of the group everytime I look at them. Let me know what I owe you for processing and shipping and I'll send it out to you.

Thank you again,.. all of you. Michigan planners, Ford/Wixom, and....all you fellow TBN'rs that were there. Wish there had been more time for socializing, didn't have time to yakkety-yak with all of you. mmmmm
A strange thing to reflect on now is that we were and are uncannily a small slice of history thanks to that wonderful Bird. What an event.
Will pass along a few pictures of the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village we visited Thurs. before driving back.
Thanks again everybody. :wavey:

Wanted to let everyone know that Charles and I made it home safely last night. We did have a bit of a causality, the Cougar lost overdrive in Danbury CT, about 30 miles from home. Looks like I'll be putting another transmission in this weekend.
Charles & I also wanted to publicly thank Joanne for the tremendous amount of time she put in making sure everyone was all set with just about everything from directions, to meals and stuff to do. Most of all though I would like to thank her for her hospitality. She is by far one of the most hospitable people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Lastly I would like to thank everyone for a great time. I have yet to meet anyone from TBN that I haven't instantly liked.
Oh one more thing, thanks to Harry, Steve (also thanks for the cooler) and Joanne for arranging the tour.

Chuck,
You have me blushing! Thanks for the nice comments, I love company, and loved having you all here to share this final hurrah for our Tbirds. There is so much to see and do, that its hard to pack it all into a few short days. Please look us up if you find yourself in the area again. Sorry to hear about your Cougar but, glad that it happened so close to home. Sounds like a weekend in the garage for you. I've shared our adventures and a few pictures with Harry, and told him how grateful everyone was for his part in setting up the tour.
Until the next gathering!
Joanne
