White IN/ Blue Out

Took the Whisper White '02 T-Bird to the dealership to have a headlight replaced. That was a fatal mistake. Sitting on the showroom floor was a beautiful new Desert Sky Blue '03 T-Bird. We're home with the new baby. I'll try to respond to some of the comments above.

Yes, we traded in the white Bird with 6,058 miles on in. I won't go into details, but we lost very little money on this trade. We were surprised. This makes me think that these cars are holding good value.

Margaret and I talked about a white hardtop and agreed that it would be beautiful on this Bird. However, since the car was not special ordered, we had to settle for what they had, which we also think is beautiful.

Margaret is also the photographer in this household. She'll take pictures tomorrow and post them.

This car is the same as the '02 except for the changes that you all know about. The major difference is that we didn't have to wait 14 months for it to arrive. Took a little of the fun out.

We've ordered the T-Bird floor mats and the chrome hood scoop. We will also win the freebie now being given away on the TBN.

See ya'll in Johnson City, if not before.

Desert Sky Blue is the nicest of colors so far, IMO, id take one with a white top and white seat inserts. the dealer near here has one blue with black top and black int. nice car!

The '03 drives the same as the '02. You can tell it has a little bit more get up and go, but other than that they are both the same vehicle. Haven't tried the select shift transmisson yet, so can't comment on that. Haven't been on the open highway yet to go as fast as I dare. Not much help, am I?

Thanks for the comparison. I was wondering if there was any measurable feel to the horsepower increase. That helped quinch my desire...for this year anyway!:wink:

Thanks for posting the photos. It is one beautiful bird. I'm still trying to get over how fast you moved in on it...I can't imagine my going to the dealer to fix a headlight, and trading the car in on a new '03.

Can you tell much difference in the instrument panel? We saw your car at the Phoenix Auto Show...they had the blue on turntable...beautiful color...the white/accent interior was really sharp.

Got the black accent package. Didn't discuss the white or any other inserts because the car had what we wanted, just like the '02. Like the instrument panel on the '03 because of the round dials that make it look more retro. We will probably start looking for a white top soon or any color and have it painted desert sky blue. Be nice to be able to swap the tops out for different looks.

We told our salesman that we would pass on the '04. However, he's got us down for the '05 edition. For that reason we did not get an extended warranty on the '03. We really wasted our money on an extended warranty on the '02. We had thought it was a keeper never to be traded.
