Saw in todays paper that Mike Bass Ford in Avon is having a Tbird 50 th birthday party this Sunday 06/26, with a collectible gift set to the first 50 Tbirds.
I sent an email asking for more info. Times, refreshments, etc.
I will post any reply if I get one.

Hey John, any chance of getting an extra collectable gift for a hard working, under paid, hospice nurse who is out making people's end of life better and can't make it to the gathering??? :saint: :sadsong:

Probably not...but I just thought I'd whine a bit....

Called today for more details as I did not get a response to my email. The fellow said doors open at 11 and close at 4. He said cars will start arriving about 10.

They bought 50 5 box sets to give away to the first 50 Tbirds. He said that they actually bought 100 but 50 were going to their Tbird customers. No prints.

They will have hot dogs and refreshments.

Now my dilemma, I'm signed up for the GM test drive at the IX center the same day. Decisions, decisions.

About 15 minutes west of me, you can see it from rt 90.

It's at I90 and SR254 exit#148 if you want to mapquest it.

Whine away--- they would not budge on the 5 box sets. The guy handing them out would not even give you a color you wanted he just said to try to trade later with someone. The boxes were numbered 1 to 50 and he just handed them out in sequence as you registered.

The show was great Sunny and about 84 degrees. over 50 birds of various years buy mostly baby and new birds. The also had an AC Cobra club show up for a while, they were in town for the weekend for a fundraiser. I never saw so many big block Cobra's in one place more Cobra's than Birds..

Shade-T-Blue Charlie and Lou Ann stopped by for a while but missed a box set by about a half an hour. The did get dogs and coke and stayed for a while.

I was talking to the product design engineer from BMR Fabricators
http://www.bmrfabrication.com/2005Mustang.htm
He had 3 '05 Mustangs there showing off his products. The conversation got around to quality vs junk products on the market and he was telling me about his arguments with his boss over parts that he designed that were functional but that his boss said looked to heavy. Then he said hey I have to show you something really great that just came out. He opened his trunk and pulled out an xcalibrator 2 and proceeds to tell me about how great it is and that it is one of the best new products on the market.Just thought you guys would like to hear that.

They had a couple of ladies that were putting your car picture on shirts with a new process that has heat re-active dyes that turn to a gas and dye through the poly fibers of the shirt.http://www.asyouwishllc.com/
Had them made for my wife and I with the front of my Bird on the front and the back of my Bird on the back. Also had the put a small pic of the TBN Badge with 1 Grille block all around it showing on the sleeve.

Oh Debbie, I got a 5 box set in Blue, I had to stand and watch 41 Birds register and see what color the got as I had received a black set and figured I might as well stand there and see if they had any blue and if any one would trade. The lady that got the first blue had a blue 55 so she would not trade but then a young guy with a copper 63 got one and traded, he was not really interested it what color he got.
It's your's Debbie if you want it. You owe me big time for standing there for about an hour:laugh:

Oh yea I put a dozen TBN cards on my windshield and they were all grabbed up before I left.

John, you truely are one of the nicest, most generous members that I've had the pleasure to meet. I loved the tshirts, and have sent the site to the people organizing our Mustang Memories show, hopefully they will like it and try to get them for August.

Joanne the shirts are a nice quality and you cannot feel the picture on the shirt like a transfer as the dye is in the thread not on the shirt.I was almost tempted to order two sets. The ladies are also very accommodating as she took over 30 pictures of my Bird to get a good one of the parade flags fluttering at full sail.

John, good review on the party. What time did you have to get there to get a set? My son was at the ballpark on Sat. there. Some of those balls were hit so hard they might've ended up in Avon. How long did it last?

Ed, I had called to get info and they said that they open at 11 but that cars would start showing up at about 10. Well I got up took the dogs to the park stopped for breakfast and arrived about 9:30.

When I pulled in there were about 8 or 10 Birds already there so I pulled up to a couple of ladies that I thought were in charge and asked where they wanted me to park. Her answer was "THE COBRAS ARE COMING YOU HAVE TO LEAVE" I said I thought this was a 50TH anniversary party for the Tbirds. her reply "YOU HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW I'VE GOT 50 COBRAS COMING UP THE DRIVE" I asked her again where she wanted me to go. Her answer " I DON'T CAR JUST GET OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW". I got so mad that I was about ready to leave. I started to drive out and than said to myself the hell with her and pulled up onto the pad surrounding the showroom next to a baby Bird. I don't think the owners of the baby Bird were to happy with me parking next to them from the glares I got, but by this time I didn't really care.
I went in to register but they were not set up yet. When they finally did get set up people were just walking up and signing in in no particular order. I was car #9 but stuck aroud till car #41 got the blue box I traded for and there were only two other people waiting to register at that time probable a little after 11. I'm guessing the last few sets lasted anothe hour or two I know Charlie just missed a set but I'm not sure what time he arrived. I stayed till aroud 3 when most of the Birds started to leave, the "AL MIGHTY COBRA'S" had left a lot earlier.
I had a great time and HAILBRD drew a lot of attention even othe New Bird owners wanted to talk about her MODS. and most took a TBN card.

I love Cobras, but it was the day of the bird, not the snake. I wonder if any of the snake owners got a box set? Oh well, would have loved it if it had been just a little closer.

A couple of Cobra owners tried to register but were told this was for TBird owners only. Not to say. they didn't come back and say they had a Tbird. No one was really checking to see if you really had a Bird there. Heck a husband and wife could have both registered and got two sets.
