Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. They did the CAT Scan this afternoon and said that things were looking as good as they hoped for. His blood pressure is staying up higher than they like, so they are keeping him sedated and adding another BP med. Once his pressure is down they start slowly trying to bring him out of the sedation. Once he is awake they can start making assessments of his cognition and physical condition.
Keep up the prayers, they are working!

Paul, you know we are thinking of and praying for him. We sure enjoyed visiting his shop and having dinner with them at their lovely home on the airstrip. That was just a few short months ago. We are glad Kat has you and Rosetta to help. if needed, we will come. Love you guys. Steve and DonnaSteve&Donna

Rick is completely off the sedation, but is very agitated by the intubation and has tried to get up numerous times. He is receiving pain meds to keep him relaxed. Only when the intubation comes out will the Drs be able to evaluate his cognition and physical condition. Hopefully, they'll be able to do that today. Baby steps, but still moving forward.21 years, 174K miles, 48 States X 2 & DC, 9 Canadian provinces, 8 European countries, 3 Caribbean Islands, 3 Hawaiian Islands, 100+ National Park locations, 150+ T-bird events, 190+ retrobird diecasts/models, 13 TOTM pics & some very special friends...THANKS TBN !

Today Rick was not responding as he had been 24 hours before. A CT scan was done again today, but showed nothing to explain him not coming around. Tomorrow he will have an MRI to show the condition of the tissue in his brain.
When I have an update, I will let you know. The news is better today. After a rough 24 - 36 hours, Rick is starting to show some signs of real improvement. He still has the vent tube just in case, but as of now he has been breathing on his own for about 10 hours. If all goes well, they will likely try to take the tube out tomorrow morning. Other encouraging signs of improvement is that he is responding to requests to open his eyes, open his mouth to brush his teeth, wiggle his toes, and raise his arms and legs. The down side are that he is running a mild fever and the EEG showed some signs of seizure activity resulting in an increase in seizure meds.
Prayers are working - so keep them going!
