Ditto. We especially need some of Daisy Mae Yokum.

Re: Thunder In The Ozarks - A Heartland Chapter TBN Mini-Event

Sorry I missed this! I live in Bentonville!

I was getting gas in town and started seeing a flock of Thunderbirds heading north on Walton and turning into Fred's Hickory Inn! Hope dinner was good. (It's Fred's... I know it was good) Next time!

Mike sorry you missed this opportunity to meet so many great retrobird owners. We had a great time in your neck of the woods and it is a shame you missed it. With Bill and Boyd living in your area, you guys should get together regularly.

As for pictures, I was too busy and the weather wasn't very conducive to great photography. Hopefully, others were able to get a picture or two to share.

A WONDERFUL event!! Thanks to Bill, Boyd and Paul - and their staffs - for administering the best-run event I have ever attended. As I said in another post, I am passing along your expertise to other clubs. And where would I ever find the Retro expertise that I found with you folks?

Kudos to you ALL!! And thanks again.

Re: Thunder In The Ozarks - A Heartland Chapter TBN Mini-Event

Thanks to everyone for a great event in the Ozarks. For those wondering about our return, before we left the ABS module went bad, took it to the local Ford dealer and they got us in late on Friday to diagnose a bad module, didn't have one could order it would take 3 days. The service writer told us we could drive the car but of course no ABS but the brakes would work fine. We left on Sunday, the ABS, wrench, check engine, brake and transmission lights remained on for most of the trip. We made it home Monday afternoon, the car is fine and so are we, I ordered a module off eBay, thank you Ron for looking that up for us.

Re: Thunder In The Ozarks - A Heartland Chapter TBN Mini-Event

A hearty thank you to all who helped make my 1st TBN event so memorable.
I certainly felt welcome among friends. It was fun to finally put faces with names that I have known for years. (The name tags were big helpers to sort everyone out.)

Special acknowledgement to Richard ( Birdlover) for being my travelling companion.
He did a fine job babysitting me and keeping me on tract during the numerous events.

I covered 2600 miles ( from Central Florida), got 27 miles per gallon on my Torch Red
as we passed through SIX states. (Gas is WAY cheaper in Arkansas!)

Kudos to the planners of this fine event. Thanks for the gifts and souvenirs. The painting of the single lane bridge (signed by the artist) is a very special reminder of a happy time spent with all the other participants. It will soon be framed and hang among my other Thunderbird memorabilia.

I have numerous stories to share with my family. I was the eldest of all the attendees, but I managed to keep up, and participate in the many activities ( the visit to the caverns was a bit daunting - especially climbing up that hill to the parking area. Whew!).

In retrospect, I treasure -(more than ever) - the meaning of my motto for all my Florida T Bird events over the years: "It is not ALL about the cars, it is about the people who drive them." All the Ozark participants proved that to me.

I appreciate all the invitations to attend the October event in New Orleans.
However, my leash does not extend that far, at this stage of my life.
I wish you well.

Re: Thunder In The Ozarks - A Heartland Chapter TBN Mini-Event

Debbie and I finally got home Friday. Our return got us into Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. We spent time in Shreveport, Natchez and Vicksburg, went to another civil war battlefield in Vicksburg, and even won $100 bucks at the casino in Shreveport.
Thanks to all for planning another wonderful trip.

Don't ask! At the Peel Mansion, I took photos of row upon row of 36(?) Retrobirds, no two alike. My camera (I HATE digital cameras!) somehow got on Black and White instead of Color, so I have row upon row of 36 shades of grey. The village idiot - I must have done it when I erased my last batch of photos, as that is the only time I touch the buttons on the back of the camera. Sorry.

Don't be so hard on yourself George, I'd kinda like to see some 'retro' pictures (b&w) of our retro birds.

George, I have sent you a white trim ring for your center cap.

Thanks Ron!! I installed it following your instructions. I couldn't find the exact glue you mentioned, but the guy at AutoZone put me onto JB Weld for plastic and metal.

I really appreciate this, as there is no place to find this ring. You helped make my first TBN event a great success.

Peace, GAB

Wow, Danny. So sorry to hear about your health issue. I felt sure there had to be something major for you not to check in with us. Glad you have recovered enough to get back on the site. We'll see you at another one sometime down the line. Until then, take care.
