It's my fault and I feel compelled to apologize to everyone in the Midwest to northeast. After an absolutely wonderful January and February we left for Florida on March 1st. Told my 4 children I was doing my snow dance as nothing worse than being in Florida when weather is good in Ohio. Youngest daughter said she was looking for a daddy doll to stick pins in. (Son said new bottle of Crown Royal and vodka were awaiting me.)

Could hardly wait to get to golf course. Damned if I didn't blow out my knee on the fourth hole to the point that I could not walk. So here I sit with a knee brace and crutches and medication that says absolutely no alcohol.

Please accept my apologies to anyone affected by my snow dance. (Damned snow gods!)

Re: Had enough?

Hi Bill,

Well, if you have the power to have created this latest Winter storm, maybe you can do a 'knee dance' to help your ailing leg! Sorry to hear about that.

If I were you though, I'd ditch the medication and opt for the booze ... it's probably less expensive than those prescription medications anyway!

And you can still ride around in the golf cart and 'pretend.'

Re: Had enough?

Hang in there, hope you're doing better.

12-18 up here, might change over to rain for little while in the afternoon to add a little weight to it!

Regular in the snow blower here too Phil!

Instead of a snow dance, would a wish for a lap dance help?

Re: Had enough?

Looks like we just missed the worst of it. Don't get me wrong, it's a nasty mess out there but predictions were for much more. We've got about 4 inches of snow and sleet, freezing rain and gusty winds. Hope everyone else stays out of harm's way.

With your luck it would snow in your lap.

Re: Had enough?

Changing over to rain now. There's a good 7-8 inches out there, not the 12-18 they predicted. It's supposed to be out of here around 10:00 tonight, then the temperature drops like a rock. I'll have to clean up one more time before it gets too late.

What's 'good' about 7-8 inches of snow?

(unless you're skiing on it or a kid building a snowman)

Re: Had enough?

Phil,

7--8 inches of snow is "good" because it's not 18-24 inches of snow

Unfortunately with this storm, if you didn't get it removed by sunset, it froze solid.
It's been 3 days now and things are still just a solid mass of yechhhhh.

That actually does make sense Mark.

I'm very thankful I don't have to deal with that any more. Palm Springs gets blisteringly hot in the Summer (115+, sometimes for days at a time), but the heat itself doesn't doesn't leave behind anything physical you have to shovel or plow.

Three months of really hot weather is offset by nine months of near-perfect weather.

If you have areas in your lawn that need seeding, a late season snow is the perfect time. Sow the seeds before the storm and the snow will work the seed into the ground as it melts. The moisture also greatly aids germination.

Re: Had enough?

First of April and areas north and west of here are getting hit with some heavy wet snow. All rain here for now, changing over to snow this afternoon with a couple of inches possible.

Spring in New England!

Re: Had enough?

When we retired/divorced, my wife went back to NC and bought a house. I moved to Dallas and bought a condo. I gave her ALL of the lawn tools/equipment, except one snow shovel, which I hung on the wall in the garage just to remind me what I DON'T have to do anymore.

Re: Had enough?

Tied the record yesterday in Boston for the lowest high temperature for the day, never got out of the 50s. Feels like it's been raining for weeks!

It's finally going to break sometime today with a decent weekend coming. Just in time for the Jersey show.

Record highs in the 90s next week, come on summer!
