Chuck, that's not a COPS problem that's causing the hesitation in your DSB, it's the sheer weight of all the mods...

Well, actually ... 9007 Sylvania SilverStar Ultra SU/2 "for ultra night vision." I have the blister pack in front of me & that's what's printed on it. I'm open to suggestions--as I always am--from anyone on TBN concerning better headlight bulbs. Our resident Yankees' fan (above) put in EuroDezigns bulbs. Wazzat? I'll have to check into that name. Has anyone put in halogen or Xenon bulbs?

When I voted, I didn't realize that the chrome hood scoop counted as a modification, since it is a Ford part designed for the Thunderbird. My mistake. On that basis, I have one modification: the chrome hood scoop.

I did install the 1955 Y Block V8 Emblems which require drilling two holes in each front
fender so no going back to original. I do plan to have some tasteful pin stripping done and
try to match the red in the emblems. If you are old enough to remember in the fifties we
took chrome off our cars. The terms de-chrome, nosed and decked bring back any memories.

John mentioned the 3M tape which reminded me that I also installed the stainless steel trim
on the rear deck for the hardtop.

Most people either unscrewed or cut the pins
off the Yblock and mounted with 3m tape.

Re: Mod vs. No Mod pole

I fought off mods for a long time as I love the stock delivery of the Tbird. But then a little game of Simon Sez in TN changed all of that...... A bit later Borlas were installed, headrest and visor wraps followed. Nothing else so far.

And that stock exhaust? I've now paid to move it across the country twice. I don't know what I'm keeping it for, but there goes.

Maybe mods - might at some point put SS strips down on the back deck for the hard top protection. At some date possible pinstripes.

Found a junk yard and threw the stock exhaust over the fence.

Oh Boy - what is in store for me next month? Can't wait for May though. KC, Branson, and then Clarksdale, MS. Will they all survive?

It has only been the first 48 hours for this pole and already getting allot of info on different mods all in one place...

I know it is not a true pole for the fact that some of us here have the privilege of owning more than one bird, but does give a rough idea after over 100 votes and counting, that close to one third does not mod at all...

It is good to here both sides of mod vs. no mod with our birds as well...

I myself like mods and have always tried to make any of my cars unique even if it was just a personal license plate...

Still waiting on Bling Bird, the king of mods to list his mods, but not sure if it is possible all on one post, may exceed maximum words for a post. He may need a few...lol

Dot, I like your pole mod, it is right up there with my mountain mod for Aprils TOTM...

All my mods are in my photo Gallery... http://www.thunderbirdnest.com/membe...00&ppuser=6238
