Small/informal car exhibit - Springfield
There is a small car show every Sunday in the parking lot behind "Today's Man" and adjacent to the "Silver Diner" in Springfield on Franconia Road by Springfield Mall. It is mostly all "classic" cars but when I showed up a couple of times I had just as many "looky loos" as any of the classics and the other exhibitors didn't seem to mind. It usually starts at 1800 and I will be there today. Could be though that since it is Father's Day people might have other plans but there is always subsequent weeks.

Did you go to the show yesterday, James? Any pics to share? If I still lived across the river in MD, I would have joined you.

Re: Small/informal car exhibit - Springfield
I did indeed go this Sunday. (Wife's been out of town for 3 weeks on biz and two sons are grown and gone so what else to do on Father's Day !). I was the only retro there. There was a total of about 15 cars but it should pick up. As a bonus the manager of the Silver Diner handed out vouchers for a free meal and so my Father's Day dinner consisted of meatloaf instead of tuna (out of the can) and Cup-o-Noodles !!

I'm sure you are right, that it will pick up, and other retros will join you. Glad you had a nice Father's Day.

Car exhibit - Springfield
Showed up again at the Silver Diner in Springfield. It's cool chatting with folks and there were some newer vehicles there this time. Sure wish some other retro birders would join me. Or... propose an alternate time and venue.

The car show has moved to the parking lot next to the New Glory Days Grill in the new shopping center in Lorton by the Amtrak Auto Train Station. Look for the big clock tower. Glory Days is on the far end.

Re: Small/informal car exhibit - Springfield
I will definitely show up there one day! I love driving the car early on a Sunday morning -- there is no traffic. I drove my car to work on Wednesday because it was such beautiful weather and I was a nervous wreck by the time I got there! Won't do that again.

Re: Small/informal car exhibit - Springfield
There is a Caribou Coffee in that shopping center that I go to and watch the trains go by. My wife and I take the Auto Train at least 4 times a yer as I have a small house in Melbourne. The Auro train comes in at around 0830! The car show however begins about 1700 but that shouldn't stop us !!
