  • The new challenge is anything on or along Route 66. Cars, people, signs, buildings, bridges. Lets make a tour of Route 66.

          An old Standard Oil Station along Route 66 in Odel Il. My dad grew up in odel.
          Route 66 came thru the center of town and there was a tunnel under the highway for people to walk thru.

                    • Ted, you are the most directionally challenged guy I have ever known, but I love it!! Not many people end up in Oklahoma on the way to Ontario from Colorado or Arizona on the way to Ontario from Oklahoma. You definitely know how to get your kicks.

                          Note the mud on the cars. We had driven through a mudslide in New Mexico earlier that morning. Also, it was just starting to rain, so I snapped the pictures in a hurry.

                                Well thanks Paul. My mother used to always say when I was a kid I took the longest way home from school every day too, dinner would be on the table by the time I got home.

                                That trip to Oklahoma was a long one even on the way there from Ontario, I made it to Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas to get to Bartlesville. It was a great trip and even better event. Thank you for that.
