  • PCR boot cover color?

To PCR owners, just out of curiosity, is your boot cover a different shade of gray than anything else on the car? Mine is a darker gray with more blue in it than the interior or the soft top. I’m not sure if my soft top has faded or the boot cover is just different. Strangely the difference doesn’t seem to show up in photos.

    Thanks,
    Duane

Yes, mine too. I don't think it is faded, just the fabric color is not a exact match to the paint. My boot cover was still sealed in the original OEM bag in the trunk when I bought the car in 2016 and I noticed the difference then. I have been told the color of the boot is suppose to be "light tundra green" to match the " Monterery Mist" body color. While the soft top is listed as "ash" color same as the hard top. I also have treated the boot with 303 brand cleaner and protectant products same as the top to maintain color.

This is a PCR boot on a Nieman Marcus. The gray matches the silver interior.

Hm. It's a better match for the Neiman Marcus than it is for the Monterey Mist! It doesn't look bad, it's just noticeable.

It is more of a grayish shade than anything else. Mine has faded all but where the linear edges that go underneath the body, and It shows the difference in gray from faded to not faded.

Just curious if a faded boot cover could be dyed like Ron did with one of his soft tops, I believe it was the Dusk Rose? Might be a good option for faded covers.
