Judging for CTCI retros

The 55-57s didn't come with fire extinguishers either. It seems to be a rule that local fire marshalls expect in different states as car fires have occurred at events in the past. It's also been a rule for years in CTCI and other clubs. It's a fire safety issue.

For me, I was in the Safety Business and having an extinguisher is a safety issue. Boats require them!Originally posted by 007Cruiser View PostMany shows require that each car entered has an extinguisher. This is for the unlikely event that a fire would break out.

Liz I made sure Ron was included in the conventions MIA for those that have passed. They will have a bagpipe playing Amazing Grace with a flag ceremony. I've got fond memories of you guys. Be well

So good to hear from you, Liz. Hope you’re doing well.Originally posted by Sharehisbirds View Post
I do know about the retros being accepted into CTCI, Just don't understand why it took them so long after Ron fought for years for this. I did talk to Bill Long in CTCI about the award, it is an honor for Ron, however, its a shame he could not be here to witness this. Just Saying!!!!

We have around 240 registered so far, with registration closing on Oct 17th. This will be the 'first ever' judging of our retros! I'm entering Black Beauty in the modified category.Last edited by Sharehisbirds; Oct 15, 2023, 01:34 PM.

Agreed. When I see that, they don’t see me.Originally posted by JerriLampon View Post
That MUST be the most moronic requirement ever.
In the past 50+ years, I've judged and been judged using international rules mid-50s Nomads, 60s to 70s Volvo 1800s using international rules and NO ONE required a fire extinguisher.

Does it have to be that fire extinguisher, or could it be any extinguisher? Oh, let me clarify. I didn't mean that exact one. I meant does it have to be 2.5 ABC. I have a few smaller size extinguishers and would like to use one of them. Sorry!Last edited by doc; Oct 7, 2023, 10:29 PM.

It appears that Greg and the other 240 owners must care.Originally posted by Gobird View PostWho cares

I followed the link for judging, since the Retros didn't come from the factory with a fire extinguisher why are they required for judging?

Only judging I need is my own. If ours passes my approval, it's way better than average for age and miles. Rolling one off a trailer a few times a year doesn't really impress me that much.
