On my 2002 Thunderbird, the transmission front seal (high pressure) blew out last week. 82K miles.
The car is at the locally recommended transmission shop now waiting in the queue.
I hope that it is just a simple seal replacement but if something is amiss dictating a complete rebuild, I may want to try to save some money on the car. It sounds as though this shop will want $4k for the rebuild alone.
Does anyone have recommendations on 3rd party rebuilds (plug and play) where they were satisfied? Anyone to avoid?
