Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. It was a good one (age aside). This weekend we had a Sooner Thunderbird Car Club road trip down to Lawton, OK, my hometown, if an Army brat has one. Along the way we met up with some friends from Texas that included Dave Egan and Dot &George Lang and a new couple from San Antonio. The weekend had everything you could want - caravans, interesting sites to see, food and even a hardtop relay. The gathering lasted just over 24 hours and resulted in our group being featured in the local newspapers of Lawton and Anadarko, OK. When everyone headed home after lunch, Rosetta and I went to visit my Mother.
After spending Saturday night with Mom, getting a few chores done for her and going to church with her on Sunday morning, she treated us to lunch at Red Lobster for my birthday. Even better than the lunch is the scrumptious carrot cake she made me for my birthday. Guess, I'll always be her little boy.
Except for hard rains at the beginning and end it was just about a perfect birthday weekend.
